Is Brad Hawpe Starting Full-Time These Days?

I confess I'm not a Rockies fan - just a fantasy baseball afficionado. I picked up Brad Hawpe a while ago - it looked like he has a little power, plus of course, he plays at Coors - but have kept him on my bench because he wasn't starting regularly.

It looks to me like he has been getting a lot more starts - seems that he's started all but two or three games in May. He's also put together a nice line for himself so far: 871 OPS, 20 RBI, 4 HR. He's also fairly young - he's not quite 26 yet.

So the question is: Is Clint Hurdle giving this young man the starting job? Is it worth putting him in my fantasy lineup? Or is this just a blip and is he likely to go back to missing two or three starts a week?

Hawpe

Nice pick up for your fantasy team, David. It will be nicer once Clint Hurdle figures out that Hawpe is at least as valuable against left handed pitching as Dustan Mohr. Unfortunately our manager is notoriously slow on the uptake sometimes. Hawpe's line against lefties in only seven ab's= .286/.286/.429. Which isn't bad enough to pull him. His right-handed platoon partner Mohr's line against southpaws (in 13 ab's) meanwhile: .154/.154/.231. Ouch. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hawpe to continue to get more ab's especially as this trend continues. He didn't start today against Estes, but unless Mohr gets hot, expect Hawpe to be pretty much everyday by the end of the month.
