Game thread, Kennedy versus Garcia
This one will be tricky, but in the series preview thread I said I thought we'd come away with another win in this match-up. I got my days of the week screwed up down there, obviously, but if you had my weekend you'd probably understand. Tonight's the real rubber match of the series, the closest game to a toss-up that we'll have against the Sox as tomorrow night we give it away with BK and then Franchise starts our next win streak on Wednesday. My prediction? a Rockies win, as Clint Barmes shows us why we don't miss Juan Uribe. Err.... argh... stupid stairs. Why don't they pay our rookies enough to allow them single level living anyway. And shouldn't somebody be carrying Clint's groceries for him now anyways? Don't his neighbors worship him like we do?

Um...
With Kennedy starting,
Washington keeps asking for Preston Wilson, but the Nats have the players -- Ryan Church, Zach Day, and minor-league pitcher Mike Hinckley -- to make the deal and the Rockies cannot pay all of the contract. Teams are beginning to call on Jason Jennings (Boston, for one) and Joe Kennedy (Oakland, among others), but not only has Todd Helton not discussed being traded, but Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd says, "he says that he'd like to lead this team back to being a winner."
If you believe Gammons, of course.
Omigosh!
Yeah, Juan Uribe,
argh...
