Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

Game thread, Kennedy versus Garcia

This one will be tricky, but in the series preview thread I said I thought we'd come away with another win in this match-up. I got my days of the week screwed up down there, obviously, but if you had my weekend you'd probably understand. Tonight's the real rubber match of the series, the closest game to a toss-up that we'll have against the Sox as tomorrow night we give it away with BK and then Franchise starts our next win streak on Wednesday. My prediction? a Rockies win, as Clint Barmes shows us why we don't miss Juan Uribe. Err.... argh... stupid stairs. Why don't they pay our rookies enough to allow them single level living anyway. And shouldn't somebody be carrying Clint's groceries for him now anyways? Don't his neighbors worship him like we do?

Um...
Appears you're a victim of poor timing, because as of today, we officially miss Juan Uribe.

With Kennedy starting,
here's some Peter Gammons stuff regarding Kennedy, Jennings, and Wilson:

Washington keeps asking for Preston Wilson, but the Nats have the players -- Ryan Church, Zach Day, and minor-league pitcher Mike Hinckley -- to make the deal and the Rockies cannot pay all of the contract. Teams are beginning to call on Jason Jennings (Boston, for one) and Joe Kennedy (Oakland, among others), but not only has Todd Helton not discussed being traded, but Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd says, "he says that he'd like to lead this team back to being a winner."

If you believe Gammons, of course.

Omigosh!
Why do I have to open my big trap. Doh! I come back to find our one potential all-star and shortstop gone, I couldn't post a trade thread like I was going to today because somebody from some second city was a little late in getting their questions to me, argh. I hope we sweep the Sox because the headaches involved need to be rewarded somehow.

That was a gorgeous shot
Hard hit the whole way. Makes Clint Barmes' absence sting a little less :(

Yeah, Juan Uribe,
just rub it in our face, "oh look at me, I'm Juan Uribe and I have a healthy collarbone!"

argh...
