The Rox are flipping Bigbie to the Red Sox for OF Adam Stern and C Kelly Shoppach.
Stern is a speed guy, a Rule V pick that has to stay on the Rox 25-man roster for the rest of this season.
I'm most excited about Shoppach, a 25 year-old backstop with a decent .260 AVG and .360 OBP with 21 homers for AAA Pawtucket thus far this year. This makes dealing Byrnes look a lot better if the prize is a young catcher who is actually good.
