Judd Songster Is Awesome

I was most fortunate to be the game announcer at USC (now CSU Pueblo) when Judd Songster was the most feared pitcher in the league.            I played "Hell's Bells" every time he entered a game and would announce the time of day and say" It's 2:43 and hell's bells are ringing, now entering the game for the Thunderwolves at pitcher # 41 Judd Songster!"   It was great fun to watch the ondeck batter as Songster warmed up.   Whenever he entered a game with the lead the other teams started packing up their equipment.   When he threw the ball it made a sound that was unmistakable as well as unbelievable.   His competitivness and dedication to the team made him the league MVP by far and away.
The main reason that he is slightly older than other AA pitchers is that until he got to USC he was an outfielder.  He is still just a pup as far as pitching experience goes.   Once he does make the inevitable move up to the Rockies they will be legitamate contenders simply because of his presence in the bullpen.  Very few ML teams have as potent a weapon as Judd and I look forward to seeing him in a Rockies uniform for a very long and fruitful time.
