I'm in total agreement with Rox Girl on this one.
Other things that upset me are Randy Jones coming on after the Padres broadcast advertising his tobacco store and Ted Leitner's cutting down other teams and other players.

Gender Issues

In this case, I agree and also think Hernandez was wrong. She is a hired massage therapist and any 'issues' concerning gender stuff should be put aside. I'm not sure how things are handled with male coaches and trainers of female teams.

I haven't been in a professional sport locker room so it is hard for me to comment about whether or not women belong in there or not. I understand in these modern times that females are part of the sports journalism crowd and therefore need access to those areas just to do their job.

I know as a grown man that seeing a female in any regard inside a locker room filled with naked men walking about that I would feel uncomfortable with it. However, that is just my thinking. I do not know if male sports writers have a problem doing interviews inside professional women locker rooms. I believe there is more protocol in that scene where there are interview rooms set up and strategically placed curtains.

It's not just the opinion he expressed

that bothers me. In fact, if he wishes to be a jerk and think like that, he has every right. The fact that he expressed his views on a broadcast where he represents the Mets and Major League Baseball (which owns said broadcast) to a public audience who will take his words as the voice of the Mets franchise is what's most reprehensible here. How many young female Mets fans were listening and just told that they don't belong in an MLB dugout just because they are girls? Entire dreams could have been snapped just like that, and even if they weren't realistic, great things can come by keeping dreams like that alive in youth. I'm sorry, I just can't get around how appalling this is.
