Freeman
better get a start in center soon. Sully isn't really starter material.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 7:53 PM MDT reply actions

OF COURSE
Sullivan K's to start the game...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 8:08 PM MDT reply actions

anddd....
of course...Barmes K's too...

we have the worst top of the lineup in the game...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 8:10 PM MDT up reply actions

In the two losses so far
the team has K'd 25 times. This isn't a very promising start.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 8:14 PM MDT reply actions

down
in the first inning for the fourth game this season...

4 games, 4 deficits...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 8:22 PM MDT reply actions

and now...
a bad pickoff throw....

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 8:22 PM MDT reply actions

Why, O why
does the Braves-Giants game have to been in a rain delay? Seeing Matt Cain pitch would be much better than the path the Rockies are on for this game.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 8:27 PM MDT reply actions

Well, will you look at that,
Marrero and Smith both homer to tie the game at 2.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 8:37 PM MDT reply actions

i was in a shock....
and state of joy when i saw that...two guys that I questioned being in the lineup (of course, Sullivan was another one, and he didnt do anything to change that)...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 8:40 PM MDT up reply actions

and then
Fogg comes right back and gives up the lead...by allowing Chris Young his first hit ever...

we are in for a long year with Fogg and Day as our 4/5...please somebody out of the 2 Kims and Asencio get healthy and move into the rotation...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 8:45 PM MDT reply actions

rox
continue to K at an alarming rate...thru 4 today, already 6

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 9:12 PM MDT reply actions

Helton with
another double following (gasp) a CORY SULLIVAN DOUBLE =)...4-3 Pads and now Chris Young is out...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 9:36 PM MDT reply actions

Thank Goodness for Helton
Hitting that two bagger to score Sullivan.  Barmes' at bat was horrible.  This is the worst team fundamental hitting wise that I have seen in a long time.

by Prospector on Apr 7, 2006 9:36 PM MDT reply actions

Team Record...
For doubles in an inning perhaps?

by Prospector on Apr 7, 2006 9:41 PM MDT reply actions

OMG
we have the lead!!! and runners on first and third with 1 out...

this is unbelievable ;)

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 9:43 PM MDT reply actions

What is going on here?
I'm rather enjoying all of this offense. Certainly didn't expect to see such a thing after the first 33 offensive innings of the season, that's for sure.
Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 4/2/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 9:45 PM MDT reply actions

come on
bullpen, shut down the Pads...

I really got to commend Fogg...he had a rough 2 innings, but after that he settled down and kept the Padres to those 4 runs. Now we have the lead and we are turning it over to the bullpen...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:06 PM MDT reply actions

Let's see
what Ray King can do with the lead in hand.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 10:12 PM MDT reply actions

yesss
King gets a grounder out of our old friend, EY

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:16 PM MDT reply actions

Nice job, Ray Ray
Burger King made me nervous there for a little bit, but that goose egg is huge.

By the way, this Padres TV announcer (I'm watching on MLB TV) is clueless - he pronounced DeJean "DAY-zan" and referred to Jose Mesa as our closer.

Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 4/2/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 10:19 PM MDT reply actions

I heard
that too....

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:20 PM MDT up reply actions

WHOO!
Garrett Atkins plays long-ball! He one-handed that one out of the yard.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 10:20 PM MDT reply actions

Garrett
Atkins is in a zone!!!! 7-4 Rox!!!

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:20 PM MDT reply actions

Marrero
I have to admit I like what I'm seeing from Eli tonight. Can he play center field?
Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 4/2/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 10:28 PM MDT reply actions

ya
Eli is a triple short of the cycle, and also just stole a base.

He played center during spring training....so maybe they will give him a shot. He cant be any worse than Burnitz was 2 years ago...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:30 PM MDT up reply actions

Tulsa won tonight
Ian Stewart went 2-4 with two 2B, 1 BB, 2R and 2 RBI.  Tulo went 1-5.  Corpas got the win after blowing the save.  Stephen Register gave up two runs in 5.2 IP.

by Prospector on Apr 7, 2006 10:31 PM MDT reply actions

HAHAHA
Ray "Burger" King looks so funny batting...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:32 PM MDT reply actions

Eek
Ah, there's that "pit in stomach because Jose Mesa is coming into a ballgame" feeling. It skipped Opening Day - that's a day for optimism, after all - but it's made it's presence felt right now.
Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 4/2/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 10:37 PM MDT reply actions

Jose...
came in and did his job...1-2-3...and a nice play getting that soft dribbler to the side of the mound...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:44 PM MDT reply actions

3 more outs
Suffice it to say that if we can pull this one out it will be quite the encouraging victory after what we saw in the last two games of the Arizona series.
Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 4/2/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 10:45 PM MDT reply actions

But the Ks
are still a problem. 35 combined in games 2, 3, and 4.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 10:47 PM MDT reply actions

WHAT?
Did Cory Sullivan just triple? Something's in the air in San Diego tonight... there's no other possible explanation.
Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 4/2/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER.

by Franchise26 on Apr 7, 2006 10:48 PM MDT reply actions

haha
I felt the same way when I saw him running for a triple...

San Diego is the new Coors Field bandbox!!!

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:50 PM MDT up reply actions

Atkins
They walk Helton to get to Atkins, and he hits the first pitch he sees and gets an RBI!!!

His past 3 games, hes 7 for 12 with 4 doubles and 3 RBIs

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:52 PM MDT reply actions

Marrero
again!!!!!...10-4 COLORADO!!!!

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 10:52 PM MDT reply actions

So the bats
decide to come alive outside of Coors. Well, no triple for Marrero but 2 RBI are better than a triple.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 10:54 PM MDT reply actions

Game over
nice win...

offensive came alive, and take out the first 2 innings, which were ugly (K's, errors, Pads runs), it was a great game all around...

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 7, 2006 11:04 PM MDT reply actions

Yep, great win tonight
but I might not be able to function too well in the morning after these 10 EST games.

by Russ Oates on Apr 7, 2006 11:06 PM MDT reply actions

That makes two of us...
With Daylight Savings Time now in effect here in Indiana I have to get used to watching 10:05 starts out on the West Coast. It's the same way when the Nuggets play the late game on TNT on Thursday nights... like they did last night. Miraculously, today I still managed to perform well on the exam that I didn't get to review for on account of that game going into overtime and me being up until 2:30 watching it.

Tied for 1st place.... WOOO!!!
Great game (the last 7 innings of it anyway).

Josh Fogg and his weird sideburns did the job tonight.

by malakian on Apr 8, 2006 12:35 AM MDT reply actions

funny...
that we made the same observations...i have sideburns, and when i saw them i was like wat da hell type of style is that?

by Rockiesbiggestfan on Apr 8, 2006 1:08 AM MDT up reply actions

Fear the muttonchops..
Fogg must really like Elvis or something.
