I have a crush on Rox Girl

Oh yeah, I do.

Star-divide

There's something about a girl that knows s'metrics, baseball and likes the Rockies.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Good one.
It's odd, though, that men think they're in heaven when they find a woman who loves sports a little too much, while men who are so obsessed usually don't draw the same attention from women.

In fact, they probably use terms with the word "geek" in them that I don't particularly like.

I agree
"...while men who are so obsessed usually don't draw the same attention from women."

Exactly. I'll bet you a Heart Like A Wheel DVD that you will never find a girl that finds men who are a little bit obsessed with baseball (a la bloggers, analysts) appealing. I mean, we do have our charms, but it has the exact opposite effect than women who are into sports.

I love Garrett Atkins. Seriously. Man-crush. I traded Morgan Ensberg to get him in my fantasy league.

Right
I've never heard a woman say "that Peter Gammons, he's so hot."  Yet men drool over sideline reporters like Jillian Barberie who show only a slight amount of knowledge about the sport they're covering.

Guys like myself, Gammons, and John Clayton have it even worse, since we were never actually great athletes who people can write it off to "not being able to give it up."  Clayton especially seems to draw some disrespect from the other analysts based simply on the fact that he didn't actually play football (which naturally means that he knows nothing about the sport.)

I thought Peter Gammons was kind of hot
I mean for an old guy. At least until he put out an album, then he kind of got a little weird. (Get well soon, Peter)

As far as hotness without knowledge in male sports announcers, I really can't think of any because the inane blather that comes out of their mouths just totally ruins it for me. Call it the Trev Alberts effect. Of course, I think the same is true of the Barberies of the world.

While we're on the subject of crushes and announcers, I have this strangely serious girl thing for Fox's Jeannie Zelasco. I know some of my fellow bloggers here at SBNation have called into question her skills, but she gets props in my book. Even when she was pregnant I was thinking, I want to be you. Or with you. It was confusing, believe me. Anyway, besides her, in the baseball world I totally crush on Theo Epstein, but he hasn't returned my calls. Plus, his lawyers just don't seem to understand the thing he and I have going. Well could have going if it weren't for that damn restraining order. Sigh.

Haha, well
I've never gotten comments or e-mails from any female readers expressing a crush on me, so congratulations.
