Game #140: Bergmann vs. Cook

This is just Jason Bergmann's sixth career start, though he's pitched quite a bit out of the bullpen for the Nats this year.

Maybe Ray King can stay in Japan after his tour in Novemeber. Either way, the most likely scenario is he's gone after this season.

When Bergmann takes the mound against the Rockies, the NFL will have their season-opening game. I'll predict the Dolphins win by three points.

but a good debut for Salazar nonetheless. Another left handed centerfielder I know probably would have struck out in that situation...

To see that nothing has changed from 7 months ago - the Steelers are still the offical favorite team of NFL officals everywhere. That Saban wasn't allowed to challenge that non-TD by Miller was a total atrocity.

To keep this baseball related - I'm glad to finally see Salazar get his shot.

yeah

I agree that Saben should have been able to challenge the play how are none of the officials looking at him? I would say that they probably would have scored, but I've seen them fumble on the one in this game and in the playoffs last year.
Nice to see guys get chances on the Rockies like Field and Salazar I am a little surprised it was Salazar and not Baker...

Different positions

Baker will get his chances to platoon in right, but Salazar is entering a wide open race and has a better opportunity for playing time.

Truth

What helped you guys more was the fact that Daunte Culpepper is a horrendous quarterback. Seriously - I couldn't believe how bad he was.

Bleeder

Little chopper that nicked off of Wagner's glove as he leapt. It was a full count, so Tulo was going on the pitch, so he just didn't stop coming around third. Lopez couldn't get the ball out of his glove. Great hustle play.

Gosh darn....

I'm liking this kid, baby!

He comes into the big leagues sporting a 1 for 18 big, black and blue bruise on his ego, then deepens the sore with a 1 for 13 start... and then proceeds to wallop the ball all over the place since.
