The only possible thing I can make out of this...
Given the way things have gone, wouldn't it be fitting to score three off Hoffman to extend the season. Otherwise, I've just about had it. Innings 1-7 were brilliant. 8-13 have been an inexperienced team showing their age and swinging for the fences.

Holliday's blown play in left was not his fault, and without that we would not be in this situation; instead Corpas would have closed it out in the ninth and we'd win.

He still has to do his job
we used three relievers in one inning, and gave away outs upon outs with questionable subs or no-subs.  He was right to use Carroll as a defensive sub, but when he came up in the eighth he should have come out, Koshansky had no shot at Bell, Torrealba now has been hitless over his last five...
