NLCS Roster

NLCS roster was just released...
http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20071010&content_id=22 60400&vkey=pr_col&fext=.jsp&c_id=col

The Good:
11 pitchers
Willy's back
Seth Smith stays
Mark Redman goes

The Bad:
No Cook - guess he didn't show enough in his rehab start.

The press release also gives the order of the starting rotation... it'll be Francis, Jimenez, Fogg, and Morales.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

So will we start Taveras or bring him off the bench? I don't think Hurdle should move Kaz from leadoff the way he's been hitting, and Spilborghs isn't hurting us in the field. I think the roster choices are good.

No reason
to change what's working, especially with Taveras coming in cold.  Besides, Have Willy on the bench would seem to be an asset.  Hitting for the pitcher, it would be like creating an alternate top of the order.  In games where runs are at a premium, he would also be a killer pinch runner.

Why why why why WHY
Is Hurdle screwing with the lineup? Yes, I understand the Bunt-Sui tandem at the top of the lineup is a threat, but a 17-1 streak is really dangerous to screw with. Esp with Tulo's production in the 2 hole. I'm not as much worried about putting Kaz in the 2, I get the distinct impression that he'll produce anywhere you put him.

I know that the two "wreaked havoc" on the Dbacks...and I know that Webb likes to keep a close eye on basestealers, which could throw that sinker of his off. But still. 17-1. Come on, man.
