The Rockies won what was probably the toughest part of this series last night by beating Brandon Webb. Ubaldo gets another shot at a playoff game and who doesn't want to see him match his first game? OK, we won't want the four walks or another power outage, but 6+ innings and five strikeouts, sure.

Just getting a jump on things so we can also
comment on the ALCS, tied one to one now in the bottom of the first. Neither Beckett or Sabathia (the premiere pitching matchup of the postseason according to the East Coast) have looked particularly impressive thus far.

I really don't care about that.
In my mind, the Rockies have already proven they can beat the Red Sox this season, so I want to see what we can do against Cleveland.

Oh, and it helps that I live in Cincy now and would be able to do what it takes to get into one of those games. :)

It's kind of fun to watch them get dejected
I must admit, part of my favorite part of my trip to Boston this summer was enduring endless "Rockies suck" taunts as we were whooping them. They just couldn't see it coming, and then after the game they got all depressed and drunk and I kind of wanted to kick them some more. This could be my metaphorical chance if we see them again.

They are the same as, and just as evil as the Yankees..maybe worse, at least many fans of the Yankees know they are rich, spoiled, and obnoxious.   I throw the Cubs right in there as well.

Lofton, Gutierrez, Blake
That double by Casey notwithstanding, I really don't know if that would be the toughest lineup we would face this postseason with those three at the bottom, and Peralta being kind of one dimensional. I'd rank Philly ahead for sure, and the D-backs would be behind both except for maybe when Owings pitches. I think this Cleveland team has more holes than I've been led to believe by these Ohio newspapers I read.

I actually doubt they'll get past Boston, particularly now.

what a stiff.   M's are one of my "back up" teams due to all the time I spent in the NW the last few years.  I can't stand Sexson...He's a major waste.  And I'm not sure what M fans see in Beltre either.

I think
Its more to do with:

-The black hole that is Sexson
-The Damon arm that Vidro's power equals
-The disappointment of Lopez (my fav M, but man)
-Trading Soriano for Ramirez (my former fav M)
-Jeff Weaver
-Adam Jones being called up WAY late and promptly benched to 'learn' instead of playing like he should...he was mistreated BADLY
-Raul Ibanez trying to play LF at Safeco (while Jones is on the bench)
-Rick White pitching in high leverage situations over Sherrill, Green, Putz, and the rest of our awesome bullpen
-Asdrubal Cabrera pulling a Carlos Guillen (lucky for us Eduardo Perez was a GEM and Ramon Santiago got to play in the WS...at 2B beside Guillen, the guy we traded for him)

So yeah, Beltre wasn't too bad this year, thus he stands out more in a season filled with overachieving.

Here's what I heard
Beltre? Beltre is far down the list On the List of M's screw ups/problems that need fixin.

#1 for me....light rail to get fans to Safeco. Who put the stadium there? with NO PARKING and NO Mass Trans?  
List of Cities that have rail to sports stadiums/arenas: Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, SF, and even Salt Lake City....but not Seattle...shocking

Out of the teams we've faced, and if we don't get past you guys, you'll have the best rotation, too. If Sabathia keeps on pitching like this and Cleveland somehow makes it past Boston, maybe you'd win that title even when we do win three more here. You've got to admit your lineup will see better days in the next few years than it does now.

Ned Coletti's doing his best to screw up what he's been given. I don't know what they expected from a Giants guy. I figure this AZ/COL NL West tandem in the playoffs will be more the norm than the exception in the coming years. They say the playoffs are a crapshoot, so if that's the case, you (and us) will always have a shot when you get here.

Giants are obviously going to be crap for awhile.

Dodgers are letting the veterans run everything. Some of the veterans ripped into the two young hitters that were practically carrying the team.

The other 3, that should be fun.

I want a TB-SEA, MIL-COL final four, with Seattle beating one of the NL guys for it all. The Brew Crew looks set for a LONG time.
