Around SBN: Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire Vow To Fit In With Lin

Tuesday Morning Rockpile:

Kyle Blakeman's mother and sister received a hand-carved memorial of Kyle yesterday.

First submitted in November, H. Res. 816 passed the House yesterday. The Rockies officially have the congratulations of the House for their run to the World Series. And who says nothing ever gets done in Washington, D.C.?

Last seen trying to make the Rockies in 2007, Javy Lopez signed a minor league deal with the Braves and received an invitation to spring training. At least this time he knows he'll be competing for a bench role.

The Dodgers brought in Gary Bennett to backup Russell Martin. Being named in the Mitchell Report isn't going to ruin your career, but as as Andrew mentions in that entry, Bennett will be Mr. Invisible.

Lot of backup catcher news these days huh! haha  Bennett is an admitted user, and we all suspect Javy Lopez.  Don't we?

Roberts admits use too it seems.  Doesn't look good for ol' Roger....

This means you folks
"Whereas the Colorado Rockies fans demonstrated their passion for their team, their love of baseball, and their character as some of the world's greatest baseball enthusiasts; and ".

Less than two months until pitchers and catchers report.  Winter sucks.

I actually like this time of year
It's just the lack of baseball that I hate.  The bulk of baseball season occurs during a part of year where I ironically hate the weather.

Looks like we will lose Herges service for some
specified period of time next year.  He needs to come clean and fess up and get it over with.

Best line written in a Mitchell report story.
"Don't want to stereotype major leaguers as being, well, not the brightest guys. But even the lowest crackhead in the street knows better than to buy his drugs by check or money order."
