Scouting Report / Bio: Herrera is widely regarded as the best defensive infielder in the organization. Herrera has plus range, accuracy and arm strength. He is also a capable defender at 2nd base and 3rd base, leaving the possibility of a future utility role open. Herrera is an above average base-runner and makes smart decisions on the base-paths. He displayed impressive plate discipline and contact rates in 2006 and even displayed decent power, despite his diminutive size. Herrera projects as a starting 2nd baseman or shortstop at higher levels.
Future Outlook: Starting 2nd baseman or super-utility player at the Major League level.
