Scouting Report / Bio: Simons had a horrific season in 2006, compiling a 6.29 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. One of the biggest problems Simons faced in 06 was his loss of command, which had previously been Simons' calling card and best attribute. He throws a 88-90 mph fastball, a slider and a changeup. Simons will likely assume a relief role in 2007 in an attempt to regain his prospect status.
Future Outlook: Too early to tell--- also too early to give up on him, but he profiles as a fringy middle reliever.
