Game #31: Fogg vs. Bronson Arroyo
Did the team turn a corner last night? Can the guys string together more than two wins in a row? After Friday's victory the team accomplished more at the Great American Ball Park this season than last. Take two from the Reds on the road, even better. Sweep the team, the best thing of all.
This past week the Rockies scored the fourth most runs (32) going in to today, behind only San Francisco (43), Milwaukee (41) and the Yankees (38). A few more runs by the Rockies and the appearance of this Josh, the weekend will be an excellent one.

hopefully for the reds
just realized
Arroyo
Not that it has anything to do with the Rockies
clemens is a douche
Dude
Clemens
Do you think Purpura regrets the Jennings deal?
I think
reds tv guys are good
Bases loaded in the 1st
yes jamey
Thanks Carroll!
Ahahahahaha
Get a haircut, dude.
despite not hitting the ball hard
gotta love that hamilton kid
With his personal history
hatteberg is not good
Not looking so good right now
We need to get to Arroyo either way - haven't hit the ball hard against him so far.
Awesome
They IBB Griffey
IBBs are bad. Fogg is as well....
After IBBing someone
Dunn now up. He will either K or hit a salami.
Fogg
Gonna take more than 2 to win this one anyways.
i dont want to be too reactionary
I cannot get over this mans hair.
It's hard to believe
Awful!
just want to point out that...
balls/strikes umpiring has been horrible
I'm pretty done with Fogg.
Blech
If we can't get 3 runs...
Arroyo tends to do well
Because usually
When you say that
arroyo has that frisbee going well
dont make the 1st or 3rd out
Need a couple goose eggs
I'm probably the only one here
Neither is Fogg.
Does this plate
They DO keep calling it a dish.
Good inning for Fogg
Nice job by Atkins
Good grief.
5-0
I'm sick of Fogg. Bring in Arias.
Taveras Update:
Left the game with a strained groin.
send baker back down
I think Baker is out of options

Spilly's on his way
Hey Matt
Just so you know.
Probably last inning for Arroyo?
Great AB by Helton
Now would be a good time
I'd just take a single.
Nice, patient AB by Brandon
strained groin
Just when he was starting to hit.
Mabry...? For Iannetta... Hooooo boy.
WHAT?
Okay, I really, REALLY dislike this move. What the hell!
With a grand slam ...
Wow
Mabry
We got 3
Any word on who is warming in the Rockies pen?
Well
Good Lord, it's Martin again
Blah ...
Why is it so predictable ...
Freel gets his first effing homer....
look on the bright side
I think you're right

Is Hurdle
The boxscore says it all. He looks out of place. There was mention by Hurdle that Corpas has "slipped lately" on the official website. He fails to even mention anything that Martin did yesterday on the mound...
And what just happened? FREEL HIT A DAMN HOME RUN! Damnit!
by Rockiesbiggestfan on May 6, 2007 3:15 PM MDT reply actions
Tom Martin can't have much time left on this team
This is ridiculous
I'm of the opinion
And a double for Junior. Hurdle, this is indefensible.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say...
yeesh
Martin? Mabry? You kill me, Curdle.
I needed...
Well, Martin's not 'slipping'
Ramirez, Lopez, or even BK
to be fair to hurdle
it was with our starting lineup,
Martin's a good choice
right
Funny things happening to the radio guys
He's doubled and walked today
already been said
Let's trade Finley
:)

Josh Hamilton
Non baseball related
F#$@ the Spurs
If I wanted to see a bunch of goofy looking foreigners flopping, I'd watch soccer. And I would rather gouge out my eyeballs than watch soccer.
its sad
And then you have the Suns
Well, we still have a chance
A great over the shoulder catch

Someone better have a
I guess that only happened in my dreams last night.
How my afternoon was ruined:
Had a nice brunch today with the fam, decent food. I get back into the car and turn on the radio. Hear that the Rocks scored 3 in the top of the 6th to pull within two. Feeling pretty good right about now, know how the Reds' pen has struggled. Then I hear we are bringing in Tom Freaking Martin in a close game. I immediately start cursing and hitting the steering wheel. What happens next? He gives up a bomb to Farney. I turn off the radio in disgust.
Then I get even grumpier, nothing to do with the Rockies. I'm cruising along the freeway, stewing, and come up behind a car with Texas plates. No offense to anyone, but I'm not a fan of Texas to begin with. So I see there's bumper sticker on the back of the car, and apprehensively, I read it. Big mistake. "Caution: I brake for all Wal-Mart stores." Are you kidding me? If there's one thing I dislike more than Texas, it's Wal-Mart. grrrrr

Ahaha
Affeldt/Martin
And now Taveras, just starting to be an impact player, may be out, joining Matsui, who is desperately needed, and Lopez, who is desperately needed.
But are Hurdle and O'Dowd worried? With those abysmal gift two-year contracts, they have undeserved security and we've got to watch their tired act for almost three more seasons.
sort of...
also, how are injuries to key players hurdle and o'dowd's fault again?
