Has ALWAYS been a strikeout pitcher. Coming into this season, he's averaged over a strikeout per inning for his 15-year career (471 K's, 446 IP) and is on a similar pace this year. He's always had an oustanding arm.

this is sour grapes
but i'm telling you- maybe not later this year, maybe not next year, but at SOME point, the dbacks are due for HORRIBLE luck in close games.  it's going to be like, 2010, and they're going to lose 20 straight one run games.  and i will be the first person to remind their fans that they had it coming ever since 2007.

Carroll and Torrealba left on the bench, with Corpas and Ortiz in the pen.

we need more.

anyone notice that older pitchers tend to pitch around holliday more?  i don't know about hernandez specifically, but it seems like anyone who might have faced helton back in the late 90s or early 00s refuses to believe that (although i still love him) he's a shadow of his former self.  younger guys tend to go after him more.
