Hurdle needs to learn one thing....

Hurdle needs to learn a display of emotion.

He needs to get kicked out of a few games in the next few weeks.  Maybe 1 per week.

He's gotta throw a tirade too, like thrown hats, sunflower seeds and bubble gum on the field.  Baseballs thrown, broken bats.  I even like using the rosin(sp?) bag as a hand grenade.  Get these players going.

I understand that it can be hard being a baseball player, but I just don't think Hurdle is someone these players want to back up.  Hurdle has just reverted to his own ways.  I even heard him say "These guys are doing as much as they can."  Now...that's just terrible to hear a manager say.

Sure....accept the way your players are playing...less than .500 baseball over the last month.  Back to your comfort zone.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

No, I'd have to say
He has to learn about how pinch hitters work. If he lets a pitcher hit, then takes that pitcher out at the start of the next inning one more time... oh man. Seriously Clint, use a freaking pinch hitter. Letting your pitcher hit is just giving away an out. So annoying.
Juuuust a bit outside.

Dessens
Letting Dessens bat and then pulling him started to look like a very important decision there for a little while the other night when the Nats started putting up a few runs. :(

Even worse is his use
of pitchers.  He is terrible at using his BP.  Why wouldn't Fuentes pitch 2 innings, is that a sin or something.  He should have been in the 8th as well, especially since he dominated the 7th and didn't throw that many pitches.  2 out of 3 lefties were coming up.  Ringolsby asks why not Affeldt and I understand that, Affeldt hasn't been that good lately and has not dominated lefties.  Why not Fuentes for 2 innings, get a clue.  If he isn't healthy enough to carry that type of workload then he shouldn't be on the roster right now, we need wins, not a guy that can only pitch 3 times a week.

And more of a minor complaint, why not Matsui instead of Stewart, who is facing a very tough lefty who he has never seen before.  That situation I blame more on Carrol though, he has to get a run home.
