And what will be the result of this?

Hopefully the ability
to void his contract so we can stop hearing about how he’s one of those pitchers blessed with rubber arms who can give up leads on three straight days.

I doubt it
It’s a misdemeanor, so I doubt there’s any provision in his contract about it. The Players’ Association would be sure to raise a big stink if the Rockies did try to void his contract.

LOL
Why am I not surprised. He fails everything else, after all!

Yeah
You know what’s hilarious? Driving drunk! Especially when it’s done by a professional athlete you don’t like!
Don’t see anything happening to him – this isn’t the NFL so he’s not likely to be suspended a month for personal conduct violations or anything. Since his contract is guaranteed, he’ll be back in purple pinstripes next year, and the Rockies’ goal should be not to have to make Vizcaino do anything more than pick up a strikeout or two in the sixth and/or seventh innings.

Hey, I'm glad that they caught him
before he hurt himself or anyone else. I just have to say, the headline made me crack up.
Blast and botheration.

What I don't understand,
and will probably never understand, is why people think they can drive while drunk. Especially when they fall into the category of people who should easily be able to afford a dang cab. I just don’t get it.

The bigger question
is how much a 210-pound man (according to the Rockies’ official roster) has to drink to not only be legally drunk, but drunk enough to get a DUI. (There’s a difference — ever notice how when somebody is in the news for a DUI, they’re usually well over the legal limit? At .08, a person generally isn’t going to be impaired to the point that a police officer will notice that they’re probably drunk.)

Null & Void
I think the Rockies will make a shot at canceling the contract because….
1) They are building a club of character or so they say.
2) Luis Vizcainio sucks, he’s too old & a waste of money
3) And the want to use the money to sign Fuentes because Weathers is injured & Corpas is unreliable.
4) and this is assuming that they want to win in 2009.

4) is a very big assumption

Was the Viz actually that bad?
I have it on authority from a friend from Tampa, that the only place open within a 20 block radius of that area is Mons Venus (famous Tampa gentleman’s club). You do the math.
