My Rocktober Story
From an outsider who doesn't live in Colorado (Or anywhere close to Colorado). I may not remember a lot about that though :(
Before The Streak I was wearing my Rockies shirt to bed every night and when we started winning I didn't stop. Let's just say after a month of not washing it and a bunch of ice cream stains on it it was pretty bad.
On the Tie-Breaker game I learned that my team had a make-up baseball game (This was for the game that was rained out the day before when we clinched to go to the tiebreaker). I was sooo upset, but about 2 hours before the game started my coach called and said we had to forfeit because we didn't have enough players (The baseball gods loved me that week LOL).
I was excited for the Tie-Breaker game, but don't remember a lot, but anxiety and a bad feeling in my stomach. The pit of my fear capped when Holliday mis-played the ball in Left. Luckily we had the last AB so I wasn't as nervous and I would've been had it been in San Diego. I stayed up the whole night until Julio gave up the HR (At like 1:30 AM CT on a school night). I went to sleep (Literally I fell asleep, almost crying think how close we were) after that HR and was woken up by my dad right before Holliday hit his triple.
When I saw Holliday hit his triple I thought, "We are going to win". When Carroll came up and hit the shallow-fly to right I was thinking "Go go, wait no no". When he was called safe I was ESTATIC!!! I was pretty sure the neighbors heard me at like 2:15 in the morning screaming.
I went to bed at like 3 after the high and I really didn't get good sleep after that. The next day I wore my Bichette jersey (Yes, I own a Bichette jersey) to school and was on a high.
Much after that I don't remember, but I remember staying up for every game and then the let down of the World Series.
