Cards GM Mozeliak: Trade talks for Holliday are dead.
Mozeliak insisted Sunday that discussions involving Colorado Rockies left fielder Matt Holliday have ceased and that "nothing is imminent. That one’s not happening — at all."
Apparently the Cards did not want to give up Boggs.
From the article, it appears our return would have been something with Schumaker and Boggs. The Cards balked on it.
I'm glad that this rumor is dead. I wanted Boggs or Rasmus in return, and the Cards were not going to give them up for Holliday.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Not getting into the Ludwick/Schumaker arguments here, but I like that you keyed on Boggs. Our biggest question besides middle infield is whether or not Chris Carpenter becomes relevant again. If not we NEED Boggs as that 5th starter. I don’t see Mo shelling out big money for a free agent starter after already signing Kyle Lohse to a questionable deal. So to me, if the Holliday/Ludwick + prospects deal was to happen, there was no way we could lose Boggs. One of the power stud relievers like Perez/Motte makes more sense even though we’d hate to lose them. Or maybe Jess Todd/Clayton Mortensen. I’d say Jaime Garcia but he just ended the year with TJ surgery.
Anyway, I guess it’s moot but I enjoyed reading the threads you guys have here about the proposed deal.
