Taylor Buchholz is a player who might be traded?
In his Winter Meetings preview for the Rockies, Thomas Harding lists a few players with big contracts who might be traded. Taylor Buchholz is one of those players, along with Jorge De La Rosa, Jason Grilli, and others. Huh? Have I missed something here? This is the first I've heard about any of those players possibly being traded. Second, they have big contracts? That's news to me.

Not no, but **** no
Trade Bucky?? That makes absolutely no freaking sense at all. Our one truly reliable late inning guy? This has got to be (or better be) somebody spouting nonsense in the hope that it will stir up some interest somewhere in someone else. Surely DOD isn’t that desperate. (?)

Is it just me
Or does this article suck? And am I the only one that thinks Harding is kind of crappy? He names half the team as being on the block and then has all those fake big-contract guys up there…
New thought, the Rockies hang onto Street until some team suffers the inevitable injury to a closer and is willing to make a foolish deal.
What teams have the dumbest GM’s?
I read
this article and found it to be wordy. It seems like he is just trying to post something new, even if it isn’t logical or legitimate. I find it amusing that he mentions can or need to trade but does not offer his opinion as to which player falls under which category. As for big contracts, who knew.

Arbitration
If I’m not mistaken there are no players on the “big contract” list that are even past arbitration. I do not know what he is talking about.

That could be
why he writes for the official site, rather than an actually reputable news organization.

is set to make a “big” contract in arbitration. Otherwise…yeah, those “big” contracts aren’t really big.
Harding’s not a bad beat writer, I think he just struggles for content and he’s trying to do his own amount to stir up Hot Stove talks.

Everyone is replaceable...
While I haven’t read the article, I agree trading Buchy or De La (pray I don’t loose my head out there) Rosa at this point would be ridiculous. But you’ve got to remember that everyone is replaceable and everyone can be made expendable. It all depends on what’s coming back and what other deals might be made.
agreed
the fact that the Rockies have already traded a perennial All Star shows that nobody on the roster is untradeable.

Funnily enough
I just read that exact same article and came clucking like a chicken over here to see if anyone had noticed. “Bucky has a big contract and might be traded? Barmes? Grilli? Have big contracts? Did you have a word count, Thomas? Or are you on crack?”
And yes, if they trade Bucky, then they are nucking futs. But I don’t think they will.
Blast and botheration.
