Well...
Looks like 'MLB 08: The Show' just sold a copy of their game. No way I'll be buying this one.

I was going with
MLB 08 the show anyway, as I got it the last 2 years, and liked it. (an upgraded Road to the Show mode is a BIG draw & one more year for the PS-2)  But I assume it won't be too much better then these rankings.

I wish there was a hard release date, not just "coming in March 08", and Ryan Howard wasn't the cover boy...

We were a .500 team before the streak.  Besides Holliday, we really don't have too many stars on a national level.  Even if I think differently.

I always bump up the rankings/sliders of my Rox anyway! :)

You can
see the ratings compared to other players here.

Josh Bard is ranked the 20th best catcher according to his rating, so that means Torrealba will be in the mid 60s, I guess. Uh, I'll want to be surprised for Iannetta's rating.

I hate to say it
But I think the D'backs have even more to complain about then we do.  I know their offense is suspect, but last I checked that pitching should counteract that just a tad.

Seriously, the Cardinals are rated a better team then us?  Looks like someone finalized their rosters before the winter meetings again...

Waiting for the second coming of Kaz...

My thoughts...
I don't comprehend how the defending NL champs aren't even in the top half of the team rankings, or how the D'Backs, a 90 win team last year, arent in the top 20.

Also, Helton is our second best player? I love Todd just as much as the next guy, but he's not better than all four of Tulo, Atkins, Hawpe and Corpas.

Every day is a Holliday!

I haven't bought an MLB video game
since EA Sports stopped making them.  I thought 2K Sports had an exclusive contract with MLB or something... which was why I stopped buying the games.

Exclusive
Sorta.  Unlike EA's Madden's Exclusive with the NFL that IS exclusive, baseball wanted even more money.  So all 2K could come up with was an exclusive mulit-platform game, but hardware companies could make their own game if they wanted.  Which is how we get MLB: the Show from Sony Software, which is only available for PSP, PS2, and PS3. Microsoft could do one for the X-Box...they just haven't.  So you if you are playing X-Box you have one choice, but if you are playing Playstation you have 2 choices. (I don't know about Wii)

That said, I actually come to like MLB:the show more then then I liked EA's MVP.  MVP was better graphically, and easier and little more arcade-y but MLB:the Show has some subtle stuff, especially in pitch movement that is really fun once you get it down.

And the good news for me was MLB: the Show 08 will be out on the PS2.  It was assumed 07 was the last year, but they sold something like 3 times the numbers for the PS2 then the PS3.  Because of people like me...if I get another console game it would probably the Xbox 360, but first I need a new TV, and I'm not sure I need a console game player, with this high dollar computer rig I got, as the only thing I play on my console now are sports games.

Goodness gracious.
We both got the shaft here. Hell, even if you buy into the argument that our two teams overachieved somewhat last year, I still find it unbelievable that we could be stashed in the bottom half of the rankings. The Cubs? The Cardinals? Yikes.

What most offends me
is that we're behind the "Rays", a team that's never finished better than fourth in their division!

True.
Hell, I didn't even notice them up there. Ridiculous.

It's a good thing I prefer The Show anyway.

haha
Seriously, sports video game ratings are getting out of control.
Too much focus on the history of the player, rather than the present. Like Mike Sweeney, Ray Durham, Miguel Tejada, Eric Chavez, Manny Ramirez(based on last year), Bobby Abreu.
Heck, all of the AL East except the Orioles is rated better than the Rockies and DBacks.
Crazy...
