Atkins!
A monster shot!
"Corpas ready, first pitch, checkswing roller...Tulowitzki has it, throws to first...BALLGAME! WORLD SERIES TIME IN COLORADO!"
Warning Track power..
The ball hit the warning track at the high school acrossed the street.
There's only one Rocktober!!
I love it when Atkins is hot.
It just makes things so much nicer.
Hulk Smash!
That went a long way.

Squeaky, what kind of dance are you into?
My wife used to coach the dance team at the local high school.
There's only one Rocktober!!
Yes GJHS..
There are four high schools in town, but GJ is the big one. The AD when she was there is the guy currently undergoing trial for luring a minor over the internet.
There's only one Rocktober!!
Excellent.
I know a few kids from there. My senior year, we played against them in the final round of the state Knowledge Bowl tournament (we got crushed, by the way).
GJHS is RIDICULOUS at Knowledge Bowl—12 state championships in 13 years, if I recall correctly.

I attended Montrose HS, and we always got crushed..
by GJHS’ football team, and basketball team, and….
There's only one Rocktober!!
My parents went to Cherry Creek.
They were usually the ones doing the crushing.

Well....
I was trained in classical ballet, but I just want to use that as a base to go on to other things. I’m going to school for dance, so I want to get into modern ballet, hip hop, etc. I was never on the dance team. :)
My wife always drags me to the Dance recitals at Mesa State..
I really enjoy the modern ballet where they put up a screen and you only see the shadows of the dancers.
What are your future plans for dance?
There's only one Rocktober!!
I'm studying it at Columbia in the fall
My Dad and I are starting a production company, so I want to be involved with that, but otherwise I want to get in a company and start dancing by my junior year in college.
Damn it, Loretta!
I said I was rooting for you! I didn’t say you were allowed to drive in runs!
This stadium is so rediculous.

-1 jillion for the Astros announcers.
They are talking about restaurants in Tucson.
Milo
makes up for it by mentioning Colorado School of Mines on the air.

Just noticed NL West results..
It looks like the Dodgers and Giants lost, with the Padres on their way towards the L column. Interesting that the Rocks and dBacks both scored 6 in the 1st inning.
There's only one Rocktober!!
PLUS/MINUS Dbacks wins for the season:
145
What am going to do with all these "Jeff Baker for 2nd" bumper stickers?
I'll take the under...
...but not by much. They’re on pace for 119, and no signs of slowing down.

You should know the answer to that....
Edgar Gonzalez? (Who, granted, DID have an infected tooth…)
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Destined to rule the division
for years to come…?
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
You mean ..."Destined to rule the division in April...
and then collapse down the stretch and watch the Rockies pass you by every September, for years to come!”
There's only one Rocktober!!
I meant "us",
as in no other teams will touch the two youngest teams (franchisewise AND playerwise). But if you think we’re just a flash in the pan, and it helps you sleep at night, knock yourself out….
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Definetely not a flash in the pan..
The dBacks have some great young hitters, and I’m sure Young, Upton and Reynolds are going to be close to 40 HR guys every year. I just think they’ll come back to earth this year as their age catches up to them, just like last year.
BTW, I’m a Rockies fan, and as last night’s game is proof, I don’t sleep well at night and haven’t for 15 years.
There's only one Rocktober!!
Last year,
Byrnes and Orlando Hudson started off the year hot, and carried the team. O-Dawg is slumping right now, and Byrnes is barely above .300 with less power….
Sorry about the sleep issues, btw.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Thanks for the concern, pills seem to be helping..
at least that’s what my counselor is telling me.

You should find a team
that wins in 9 innings… :-P

At least they won..
That 18 inning game they lost to Arizona a few years back was horrible!! I stayed up all night and still had to work in the morning. Let’s just say that I kicked my dog on my way to bed That night!
There's only one Rocktober!!
True.
But, dude… no need to take it out on the dog, Kerpal.

Funny thing is
That it all means that the Rox and Dbacks will be at each others’ throats for quite awhile. I’m thinking that for at least the next 4-5 years our teams will be NLW teams to beat, with some pretty heated races down the stretch each year. Good be fun. Or agrefretting. Or painful. Still, I’m looking forward to it!

Well,
we’re doing a good job of keeping it real so far.
I think Dbacks fans and Rox fans may end up hating each other, but we’re probably too friendly for that on SBN…

Soft spot for me
I’ve never been a big Packer fan myself. But my Dad loved them, even painted our beach house in Packer colors. Since he died, I’ve been a little soft on the Pack. When they do well I always think of my dad.

ever since the world series
I think ive shifted my hate in the yanks, rivalry. Pre ws I hated the yankees as much as anyone, now I find myself pullin for them against the sox

I always find
that I’m hoping they can both lose. Sadly, it doesn’t work that way.

Yes,
We’ll be in second place tonight (and mercifully at .500).
One more Bowie
Don’t make this any more interesting than it needs to be.

bowie
I want Micah “Baba” Bowie off this team now, not after the game, not in an inning. Frakking now! Run his ass off Hurdle!
+2
One for Baba Bowie, and one for inventing the word “frakking.”

Has anyone looked at the sked for April?
We are sure on the road a bunch, but if you flip forward to september, we have like 15 home games and only 9 roadies
I like it that way.
Seems like we got screwed for a few years there-long road swings against tough division opponents in September-but it seems like some genius at MLB finally figured out that the weather in Denver is better in September than in April.

I'm trying to plan a few trips to see the team
the rockies don’t even come east until the end of may. Thinking about hitting up that Detroit series in June.
Four games at Wrigley May 29-June 1.
I already have tickets to the Sunday game, and I hope to get some for at least one other.

Niiiiiiiice
you could also hit up the Cell a few weeks later

I hope never to set foot in that place.

Well,
I guess we can go ahead and trade Helton, Holliday, and Hawpe to the Yankees/Red Sox for a few more 35-year old middle relievers.
Oh Frazier.

Game over!
And it’s nice to have a game that actually ends at a decent hour.
Now the team can head back to the hotel and get some proper sleep before tomorrow’s game.

Well done, lads.
Back to .500.
Sleep? We donneed no steenkeen’ sleep!
This time last year...
The Rockies were 7-8 the same as this year.
The Dbacks were 10-6 this year they are 11-4 so far.

WOOO!
Had a GREAT time at my dance party, and I come back to the best news imaginable. I have to say, it was KILLING me not knowing the score. I even attempted to yank out the cell phone and find out… until the music started and then I had to go groove…
Great evening.

Nice to see you enjoying yourself..
Instead of mumbling to yourself in a cold sweat of depression. Not that it was noticeable or anything.

Just got a chance to watch that
on the Gameday highlights. I think that one was out of anywhere, including Petco. That was a SHOT. Reminded me of Pujols’ HR in the 2005 NLCS.

Conor Jackson:
4-4, 3RBIs, 11 total bases, 1 HR, 2 triples….
3 HR in the last 4 games….
As if you guys need ANOTHER of our young hitters finding his swing for the first time.
Double away from the cycle, up to bat now….

Dunno if any of you are watching SportsCenter,
but they compared the performances of the Rockies and Padres the night after.
