I love it when Atkins is hot.

It just makes things so much nicer.

Just got home...

This is nice to see. :) The runs are coming more and more frequently. I approve.

Squeaky, what kind of dance are you into?

My wife used to coach the dance team at the local high school.

Yes GJHS..

There are four high schools in town, but GJ is the big one. The AD when she was there is the guy currently undergoing trial for luring a minor over the internet.

Excellent.

I know a few kids from there. My senior year, we played against them in the final round of the state Knowledge Bowl tournament (we got crushed, by the way).

GJHS is RIDICULOUS at Knowledge Bowl—12 state championships in 13 years, if I recall correctly.

by Tyler Boschert on Apr 18, 2008 9:03 PM MDT to parent up   0 recs

I attended Montrose HS, and we always got crushed..

by GJHS’ football team, and basketball team, and….

My parents went to Cherry Creek.

They were usually the ones doing the crushing.

Well....

I was trained in classical ballet, but I just want to use that as a base to go on to other things. I’m going to school for dance, so I want to get into modern ballet, hip hop, etc. I was never on the dance team. :)

by Squeaky on Apr 18, 2008 9:03 PM MDT to parent up   0 recs

My wife always drags me to the Dance recitals at Mesa State..

I really enjoy the modern ballet where they put up a screen and you only see the shadows of the dancers.

What are your future plans for dance?

I'm studying it at Columbia in the fall

My Dad and I are starting a production company, so I want to be involved with that, but otherwise I want to get in a company and start dancing by my junior year in college.

Damn it, Loretta!

I said I was rooting for you! I didn’t say you were allowed to drive in runs!

Just noticed NL West results..

It looks like the Dodgers and Giants lost, with the Padres on their way towards the L column. Interesting that the Rocks and dBacks both scored 6 in the 1st inning.

I'll take the under...

...but not by much. They’re on pace for 119, and no signs of slowing down.

I meant "us",

as in no other teams will touch the two youngest teams (franchisewise AND playerwise). But if you think we’re just a flash in the pan, and it helps you sleep at night, knock yourself out….

by DbacksSkins on Apr 18, 2008 9:50 PM MDT to parent up   0 recs

Definetely not a flash in the pan..

The dBacks have some great young hitters, and I’m sure Young, Upton and Reynolds are going to be close to 40 HR guys every year. I just think they’ll come back to earth this year as their age catches up to them, just like last year.

BTW, I’m a Rockies fan, and as last night’s game is proof, I don’t sleep well at night and haven’t for 15 years.

Last year,

Byrnes and Orlando Hudson started off the year hot, and carried the team. O-Dawg is slumping right now, and Byrnes is barely above .300 with less power….

Sorry about the sleep issues, btw.

Funny thing is

That it all means that the Rox and Dbacks will be at each others’ throats for quite awhile. I’m thinking that for at least the next 4-5 years our teams will be NLW teams to beat, with some pretty heated races down the stretch each year. Good be fun. Or agrefretting. Or painful. Still, I’m looking forward to it!

Well,

we’re doing a good job of keeping it real so far.

I think Dbacks fans and Rox fans may end up hating each other, but we’re probably too friendly for that on SBN…

Soft spot for me

I’ve never been a big Packer fan myself. But my Dad loved them, even painted our beach house in Packer colors. Since he died, I’ve been a little soft on the Pack. When they do well I always think of my dad.

Has anyone looked at the sked for April?

We are sure on the road a bunch, but if you flip forward to september, we have like 15 home games and only 9 roadies

by moomacher on Apr 18, 2008 9:14 PM MDT   0 recs

I like it that way.

Seems like we got screwed for a few years there-long road swings against tough division opponents in September-but it seems like some genius at MLB finally figured out that the weather in Denver is better in September than in April.
