This is an interesting battle between a couple of pitchers who by right of natural talent perhaps shouldn't have had the success they did in helping their teams to the playoffs last season, yet by sheer know-how or moxie or whatever you want to call it (incredible luck?) were instrumental in the playoff runs of their teams. This season, the pair both had starts early that seemed to vindicate the naysayers but have come back with effective outings in their last starts. I would like for Mark Redman to pretend that he's still pitching in PETCO, and for Kendrick to get spooked and try to run away and hide under a rock in center field. Barring that, I would just like for Kendrick to give up a lot of runs.

Question
Why am I beginning to feel better when Redman pitches than when U-ball or Morales pitches?
The nice thing about Redman starting
is that no one is really expecting a lot from him, so when he pitches well it’s an added bonus. Everyone expects a lot from the two young guns U-Ball and Morales.

still this is not the best two day stretch ever….I think the Astros broadcasters jinxed us yesterday when they flashed up that graphic that the Rockies bullpen had the best era in baseball.

We’ve learned that ST stats are inversely proportional to regular season stats?
Tulo awesome in ST = terrible thus far
Francis awesome in ST = terrible thus far except for last outing
Todd awesome in ST = started hot but cooled
Matt awesome in ST = so-so thus far
Bowie awesome in ST = terrible
Atkins eh in ST = awesome thus far
Etc…
Wow, I need to forget this game, the faster the better.

Micah Owings sucking in ST = 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA
Chris Snyder kicking ass in ST = below the Uecker line
