Game #5: Francis vs Webb

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies

Nothing like getting a fluffball pitcher like Brandon Webb to break us out of our slump. Please, oh please, hit against him like you did most of last season, guys.

This sure is up early

I thought it was a night game.

Night game

It is.

Made me do a double take as well.

Peavy vs Penny on Fox right now though.

Lucky

I get Chicago (A) versus Detroit

Die-hard Rockies fan. On the bandwagon since 7/6/93. Not giving up my seat. EVER! rockiesfan4ever reffered you

It was up early because I was having issues

trying to figure out how I messed up setting it for automatic posting, and I just wanted to make absolutely certain it would be up before game time. Luckily, it was, but as you point out, quite a bit earlier than normal.

Weather

Anyone know what the weather is going to be like tonight?

It should be really nice...

It's been sunny up in the mountains, at least (Thank god).

Really?

I thought it was still two hours...

I'm stoked because I just found out I get a free preview of MLB Extra Innings this week.

Until the game

I'm watching the Final Four game between Memphis and UCLA.

by Tom (RFTN) on Apr 5, 2008 4:02 PM MDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Peavy

with a CG two-hitter.

Meanwhile, it's horrible but watching the Detroit game is oddly comforting. Incredible line-up, but nothing but fail so far for the team as a whole.

by dogs on Apr 5, 2008 4:20 PM MDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ugh

I'm always glad to see the Dodgers lose, but I think I'd rather see Peavy get knocked around.

Excellent

Now we just need Helton and Holliday back to their original places.

Ask your doctor if the Rockies are good for you. Are they generally? No. Do we stay? Of course. Why? Who built Stonehenge?

by Silverblood on Apr 5, 2008 5:30 PM MDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Holliday

Hit 6 balls into the upper deck in BP. He's a righty. Think about that.

If Webb's dumb enough to hit him with a pitch, he might hit a ball to Kansas.

Every day is a Holliday!

by free7694 on Apr 5, 2008 5:40 PM MDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh Webb

The first time Holliday is up there, please bean him. Make it sting.

(I think this is the first time I have ever rooted for one of my guys to be hit before).

by Silverblood on Apr 5, 2008 5:41 PM MDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not even in Little League?

I was always rooting for the kids that couldn't hit to get beaned.

by free7694 on Apr 5, 2008 5:49 PM MDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I've never been involved with Little League

but yes. Actually... that's not quite true. If Holliday is less than his usual manbeastly self, I kind of root for some unsuspecting yahoo to bounce one off his treetrunk upper arm and see what happens next.

No K

but another 1-2-3.

I know this version of the Rockies. This is the depressing version. Make them go away.

Ask your doctor if the Rockies are good for you. Are they generally? No. Do we stay? Of course. Why? Who built Stonehenge?

Think happy thoughts...

Like Eric Byrnes face down in the dirt with Helton's arms raised in glory!!

Wow.

Jeff Kingery has just pointed out that we have had the lead for a total of two innings so far this season.

Though that's probably still more than we trailed between September 15 and the end of the NLCS.

Is it just me or does his fastball seem a little slow tonight?

Slower than normal for Francis, you mean?

He's not exactly Evel Knievel.

It's showing about 86 on CBS Sportsline..

And he's throwing a lot of changeups. Usually he can hit 90-91.

The last pitch is a ball and the pitch location is inside the strikezone.
