Why? How about pissing and moaning? Real big-league pitching there, Grilli. Get a guy 0-2, walk him.

Grilli
Gas can Grilli lol. I actually do like him and can say he has looked good overall. Our blowouts need overthrows since we are all insane hardcore fans who subject ourselves to this daily. DOUBLEPLAY!

Tonight I do—see my comments re the announcers on the “pit site.
Most of the time I can get the home feed for the DBacks, but I’m in the Rockies “area” so when they play the DBacks, I will get FSNRM.

Reynolds has way more RBIs
than Wily T or Yorvit
RBIs aren't really reflective of anything.
They’re more reflective of the guys in front of you in the order. Willy T usually leads off, right? So he’s not gonna get much in the way of RBI opportunities.
Also, Reynolds’ RBIs mostly came during the first 2-3 weeks of the season when he was ON FIRE.
Max Scherzer is all out of bubblegum.
I disagree
look at Willy T tonight. 3 left on base on front of him. his OPS is terrible as well.
Well, 3 LOBs or 3 RLISP?
See, OPS or even OPS+ is a much better measure of a hitter’s ability than RBIs.

Can we sacrifice Hurdle?
Win or lose I want CDI back and Hurdle apparently doesn’t like something about him. Is it that he hates that CI can hit and catch well, is too nice, his bald head, his overall good guy status or what? Not that his other player decisions have been good either…one vote for Dinger for manager!

I have a radical idea
for this team to win….don’t allow 8 runs in a game.
Also hit…..hits help get runs…runs are key to having MORE runs than the other team.
More runs….and you WIN

Good, that’s some consolation, then. My daughter is a Mariners’ fan and she is in despair a great deal of the time during baseball season; this season more than usual.

The only thing that would have made yet another worse..
would have been another one run loss. It just amazes me that Hurdle still won’t start Iannetta with his .328 BA and better overall ERA with the pitchers. On the upside of things, Orlando Hudson has more confidence in our team than we do.

This
season has been absolutely miserable. WE HAVE Not played well. WE haven’t hit well. We haven’t pitched well. I don’t give a S_ about the names on the back. It’s too easy to point figures….cause no matter where you point, you find a player that has sucked (minus Cook and Atkins)
I just had a verbal rant here, this…is just terrible. We are in last place…..LAST PLACE…...just in case anyone is wondering that is NOT GOOD!
Anyone seen Jeff Baker? Has he called in?
If I was the manager, I'd be
going flat nuts in the locker room…...

Francis flat SUCKS
He’s not much better then Redman! and we are stuck with Jeff for several years….same with Hawpe. Willie T can’t bunt….so he can’t get on…...Helton can’t hit a ball to the OF anymore. Torrealba can’t hit .200…but he’s starting
Anyone seen Jeff Baker? Has he called in?
We know that Hawpe and Francis are good
or at least they were… and have the ability to be so again. Willy T is a K machine. Torrealba sucks.

Francis is messed up
he’s not locating his pitches well, and he’s throwing a ton of hanging breaking balls. And I think his velocity is down a couple of mph.
Something is very wrong with Jeff this year
so what does our coaching staff do? Wait for the problem to correct itself.

Hawpe and Francis
have had one good year each. Redman had a great year once, was an All-star. then 2 years later he’ s in the minors. I see no difference expect in their contracts. Both are soft throwing lefties, that can’t locate a pitch.
Anyone seen Jeff Baker? Has he called in?
Yeah, I'm really, really pissed
I’m tired of saying guys are good…who suck. Time to call it like it is…this team is a celler dweller. You don’t get there because you are GOOD

Why am I watching this postgame show? Can't get enough I guess..
I don’t think getting rid of Atkins is the answer, thankfully the announcers support my thoughts. And where is Tulo? I mean, I know he is hurt, but haven’t seen him around the team much. I admit I am so jealous of the Dbacks since they have Bob Melvin at the helm. Say what you want, but we would have a better record if he was here. I love how most people on the Rockies official site board say nothing is Hurdle’s fault.

Speaking for myself,
I was actually posting on both boards, and I find it fun to read both points of view. Plus, I can pick up and save some angst and use it when the DBacks play the way they did in Chicago, so it’s helpful to me!
I started reading Purple Row last year during the playoffs—I think because you came over to the “Pit—and sorta feel now like I know some of you. And I like having a rivalry that doesn’t mean nasty attitudes and rude posts. I’ve followed the Rockies since the beginning of their existence because we used to live in CO and were excited that finally there was a team there! And then when we lived in AZ, the DBacks started up and they became my team. But the Rocks are my very close #2 team,so I like visiting with you all. I read PR most of the time, but usually only post when they play the DBacks.

A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings. ~ Earl Wilson
I think I will watch the next two games on tv...
and also stab my eyes out with a spork. Hurdle will probably wait until Sunday’s game to let Iannetta have a start, which will lead me to bang my head repeatedly against a wall, followed by the manager speech courtesy of free7694 Then as more punishment, I will go to the whole Twins series at Coors. Now granted, the Twins are my second favorite team in baseball so I guess it isn’t entirely terrible. But of course I will remain dumbly, numbly loyal and root for the Rockies.

I guess I should root for the twinkies...
but I worry I will become used to their good playing and once they leave, I will be back to reality with Rockies version 08’, which will be quite the shock to my system. It’s also hard to root against my fav. Rockie, Everyday Atty/Fankles. Eh maybe I could just root for the Twinkies and Atty, less likely to have a rockies related breakdown that way.
I have always liked the Twins, they were my grandpa’s (who introduced me to baseball and the Rockies as a youngster) team before the Rockies. I follow them pretty closely, like a lot of their young players and their team now. I was also a big Puckett fan and watched Santana in his early days..it’s still weird not to see him there. Other backup teams include Braves, A’s, Marlins etc. I also gravitate toward teams where players I like are, even rooted for the dbacks a little when Gonzo was there.
