That kid (a lefty, by the way) has a SWEET-looking swing. Big, quick, windmilling action, and he CRUSHES that ball off the tee. Just a vicious swipe at the ball.
The question is: can he pitch? If so, Dan O’Dowd should get a bullpen contract drafted ASAP…

I keep thinking we’ve hit rock bottom. And then it keeps getting worse. Maybe we needed this in order to get Manny sent somewhere to straighten things out. I’m pretty sure he’s single handedly cost us at least half of the games we should have won.
A lot of them, at least.
Four blown saves + tonight’s debacle = five “This one’s on you, Manny” games out of eighteen losses. If Eric Gagne circa 2004 is our closer for those games, we’re 16-13, same as the Dodgers.

To be fair to Manny,
he came in when the Rockies were down by one and the offense never scored another run.
A bad outing to be sure, but I don’t think you can say they’d have won this game had vintage-Gagne been pitch instead.
True
they still would have needed to score again. But while I know they’re professionals and they’re supposed to focus and do their job no matter what, the blowup had to have an effect on the rest of the team. They mounted a comeback, got to within 1 with two innings left to make something happen, and then practically before they could blink, the Dodgers were up by 5. No way that didn’t have an effect. I know I would find it demoralizing.

Seriously, I think something may be wrong that he isn’t telling. His velocity is down a couple MPH’s, his control is off, something needs to be looked over because thats not right.
