Is it time for Todd to shave?

Star-divide

We have witnessed the power of the beard.  Whether it is Jake Plummer in 2005 or Todd Helton in 2007, a player who grows some ridiculous facial hair has a great season.

But the power is shortlived.  Plummer stumbled and never recovered in 2006 and found himself benched.  Todd had an outstanding season last year but has not been able to find his stroke in 2008.

Perhaps it is time to lose the beard.  Call it a sacrifice to the baseball gods.

Note:  I am not saying that Todd Helton is Jake Plummer and should be run out of town on a rail in favor of a young hotshot.  The comparison begins and ends at the chin.

If it brings his power back.....

I’m all for Todd shaving his facial hair. At least it might help him look younger, if not hit like he’s younger. In any event, the goatee can’t hide the fact that this man is done as a run producer.

Lord no

The man has no chin, and the goatee hides that. In any event, the power stroke is long gone (at least on a regular basis), and trying to look younger is not always an attractive thing on those who have reached a certain age.

The Rox have more than their share of young faces. May Todd wear that gray in his beard with pride!

IDK.

I’m used to seeing him with the beard now. LOL But I also remember what he looks like w/o the beard cuzz I got a picture with him back in 1996

Power?

I don’t think Todd Helton’s power will ever return. He’ll still crank the doubles, but his 30HR days are over.
