Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

I'VE HAD ENOUGH.

NO MORE TORREALBA.

ENOUGH.

IANNETTA AND BELLORIN.

Honestly, Bellorin could not possibly be as worthless as Yorvit Torrealba. He can’t hit, he can’t throw runners out, and as just evidenced, he can’t even handle a ball to get a runner out when he has a good 7 feet to get him with.

Bring up ANY AAA catcher (except Cota :v ) and have him back up Iannetta. There is no way that they could be any more ineffective than Torrealba is.

He hit ONE clutch home run in the 2007 NLCS. That does NOT make him a good hitter, or even a clutch hitter! He’s absolutely lousy! He’s a dead out!

Torrealba has a runner on 2nd and nobody out, all he needs to do is put down a bunt or hit a ball sharply to the left side. Instead, he taps one nearly directly to second base, not only not moving the runner over, but completely wasting an out.

I don’t care HOW good of a game he calls, take a look at the pitching this season. His catcher’s ERA (fake, I know) can’t be much better than Morales’ was when he got SENT DOWN.

Essentially we have a catcher who can’t hit, can’t throw runners out, can’t field his position well, and apparently isn’t as great as we thought at calling a game.

Free Chris Iannetta.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Hurdle always too slow to react....

Just like Shawn Chacon closing for almost an entire season, Clint Hurdle won’t grant your wish. He’s too slow to change roles and make Torrealba a backup. The only solution is to trade him, which is the only way to prevent Clint from inserting him into games 5 days a week.

Yorvie has made it clear.

The dude should not be in there everyday.

It's odd

A while back Iannetta was getting the majority of the starts over Yorvit and he did nothing to deserve going back to his “one-two” starts per week situation. Yet, that’s where we sit right now, despite the fact that Torrealba has done nothing to deserve starting over Iannetta.

My hope is that we deal Yorvit at the deadline (for anything really) and let Iannetta become the number one catcher. He is the future at the position, Yorvit is not. A change needs to be made now.

Yeah

I don’t get it, either. Even with the struggles Chris endured last year, his career OPS is still higher than Torrealba’s. Give the younger guy a chance to see what he can do.

Iannetta had a homer today

Of course he’s only allowed to catch one-two games per week so I’m sure Yorvit will be back in there tomorrow. Afterall, he’s a veteran leader who hits in the clutch!

The answer to this question

is a very, very, long one. But if a typical season is a few things will go good and be pleasant surprises, and some things will go wrong….the Rockies have had the worst possible out come with almost every single player (not named Cook). Major regression or poor play by every single player (not named Cook). Throw in horrid Management and handling of players AND pitchers (including Cook), you get the worst team in baseball….......the Colorado Rockies

(even the short answer was long)
