look to tomorrow

lowe vs. cook

interesting matchup, hopefully will be better than tonight

by RAMJB on May 3, 2008 9:05 PM MDT reply actions

Can't get worse

then can Cook start Monday….Tuesday, and Wed, etc?

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:07 PM MDT up reply actions

Cook

We seem to only win when he is on the hill. He always ends our 4 games losing streaks.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:07 PM MDT up reply actions

why isnt ianetta starting?

he was a top prospect at some time wasnt he?

by RAMJB on May 3, 2008 9:06 PM MDT reply actions

Don't ask

its a sore spot around here

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:07 PM MDT up reply actions

Good question

I don’t know that anyone here has an answer for that.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:07 PM MDT up reply actions

You fit in

just fine

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:08 PM MDT up reply actions

From 3-0 to out

Well done, Yorvit.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:08 PM MDT reply actions

Pods

has his socks pulled down to his shoes….and not pulled up

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:08 PM MDT reply actions

Well our boy

just went 0-fer the 4 game series at Nashville…very bad timing.

I think we need to see him this year, to find out if he’s the future or if we pay big money for Atkins and/or Holliday, and trade Stewart

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:11 PM MDT up reply actions

I'm not completely sold on him

But I would like to see him get some time with the big league club this year to find out one way or another. Couldn’t hurt at this point.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:11 PM MDT up reply actions

Damn Broxton

is a beast. Dodgers have a rather ample pitching staff

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:10 PM MDT reply actions

Everyone in the West seems to

except for us. Even the damn Giants have Cain and Lincecum.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:10 PM MDT up reply actions

I meant fat

but yeah, we definitely don’t have a hardthowing staff

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:11 PM MDT up reply actions

Yeah they have some big dudes

And they can bring it. Lots of good fat pitcher through the years.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:12 PM MDT up reply actions

AND

they seem to look even better against our hitters…..wonder why that is?

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:11 PM MDT up reply actions

There's something

funny going on here. If anyone can figure it out, let me know.

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:11 PM MDT reply actions

Funny

as in:
“What do you do with an elephant with 3 balls?” funny?

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:13 PM MDT up reply actions

What do you do?

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:16 PM MDT up reply actions

Walk Him

and pitch to the Giraffe

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:17 PM MDT up reply actions

Not really.

But it does involve some thinking and some conjecture on your part.

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:14 PM MDT up reply actions

With what?

Oven tongs?

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:12 PM MDT up reply actions

get him to take the date rape drug

and retire from the dodgers and join rockies

by RAMJB on May 3, 2008 9:13 PM MDT up reply actions

We do have a extra 3rd base prospect

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:13 PM MDT up reply actions

Haha

I think the Dodgers might consider Holliday for Kershaw straight up at this point…

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:14 PM MDT up reply actions

They evidently don't need the offensive help

Or wait, is that because they’re hitting against us?

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:15 PM MDT up reply actions

We actually

need to keep our hitting prospects. We are suddenly a bit thin with big time power prospects

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:15 PM MDT up reply actions

still have koshansky

although theirs no where for him to play

by RAMJB on May 3, 2008 9:16 PM MDT reply actions

Koshansky

isn’t that great….I hope we look to spin him off at some point this year

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:17 PM MDT up reply actions

That guy I'm really, really not sold on

He’s like a Ryan Shealy from the left side.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:17 PM MDT up reply actions

SHHHHHH

maybe some team won’t notice and we can dump Ko for another mediocre middle reliever

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:18 PM MDT up reply actions

Yeah the Springs inflates numbers a ton

You would think the Rockies would invest $20,000 or so to build a humidor down there

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:18 PM MDT up reply actions

I really wish they would.

That would help us judge pitching and hitting down there far more accurately. It boggles my mind how they still don’t have a humidor in Springs.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:20 PM MDT up reply actions

or require

the Sox to do so. The issue as I understand it is the Rockies don’t own the Sox…and it’s $20 grand

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:20 PM MDT up reply actions

Our contract with the Springs is up after this year

They may relocate the AAA teams (and the others, possibly).

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:21 PM MDT up reply actions

They re-upped earlier in April.

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:21 PM MDT up reply actions

No offense to the Springs

but I hope they do. That park messes with pitchers.

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:21 PM MDT up reply actions

Agreed...

At some point he’s no longer a prospect.

Shealy had at least had a very good year (.330-2-16) in ‘05, when Helton was ill. Koshansky has done nothing remotely similar.

by alex colfax on May 3, 2008 9:23 PM MDT up reply actions

Urgh

I really wish that had been Fuentes closing out a 12-7 win for us.

Denied.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:20 PM MDT reply actions

Don't worry

he hasn’t pitched since Tuesday…he’s fresh!

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:21 PM MDT up reply actions

you think

we could hold a team to only 7 runs?

She’s cut off…..bartender….tab please

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:21 PM MDT up reply actions

Yeah that's right, Dodgers

Put in Saito like this is really a close game.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:22 PM MDT reply actions

Good

although he was shut down for a week with shoulder soreness…Which is troubling, to say the least

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:23 PM MDT up reply actions

Doing well in AA Tulsa

1-0, 1.69.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:24 PM MDT up reply actions

in other news, Hochever is 2-0 with royals

maybe turn into something good, he was awful last year

by RAMJB on May 3, 2008 9:25 PM MDT reply actions

He'll be fine

He is a very gifted pitcher.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:26 PM MDT up reply actions

Ramirez (0.71, .213 opposing batting average)

pitched a scoreless 8th in Royals 4-2’ win at Cleveland

by moose14 on May 3, 2008 9:28 PM MDT up reply actions

He sucks

he couldn’t pitch for the Rockies…..I mean we have Jason “Gas Can” Grillie

this is the worst move the rockies have made in awhile

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:29 PM MDT up reply actions

I think the FO and the players

got a little cocky in spring training and didn’t appreciate someone who didn’t really fit into the program.

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:30 PM MDT up reply actions

Booooo!

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:29 PM MDT reply actions

But nice catch.

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:29 PM MDT up reply actions

Pierre?

I thought that guy was 4 feet tall?

by dogs on May 3, 2008 9:29 PM MDT reply actions

Juan Effing Pierre.

Hooray.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:30 PM MDT reply actions

You're

Kidding me…..

seriously…...wth

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:32 PM MDT reply actions

Hahaha

Another one.

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:32 PM MDT reply actions

Goodman

needs to stop getting so excited.

by dogs on May 3, 2008 9:33 PM MDT reply actions

This is insane

We’re bad, yes, but we have NO luck at all.

This is just karma catching up with us from last year.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:33 PM MDT reply actions

Agree...

It is a combo of us just not being very good, and the karma thing. I am honestly convinced. This is unreal.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:34 PM MDT up reply actions

So after a month and a half

of having all the bad luck possible, we’ll go back to an even playing field. We had ALL the good luck imaginable last September/October, now we have NO luck, we just have to wait until it runs out.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:36 PM MDT up reply actions

Game over.

"Don't give up the ship!" - Capt. James Lawrence

Purple Row - Covering all your Rockies needs!

by Russ Oates on May 3, 2008 9:34 PM MDT reply actions

well

this doesn’t hurt so much. cause we are now:

WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL!

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:34 PM MDT reply actions

Worst team in baseball!

It hurts us, precious. It hurts.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:35 PM MDT reply actions

bright side

4 TACOS FOR A BUCK! yea!

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:35 PM MDT reply actions

I'm just expecting this now

It sucks when you start not even getting pissed off when the Rox lose.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:35 PM MDT reply actions

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:36 PM MDT reply actions

Why do I keep watching?

If Cook weren’t starting tomorrow, I’d seriously be taking some time off. Of course, we’ll get our weekly win tomorrow, and then I’ll watch again on Monday.

by dogs on May 3, 2008 9:36 PM MDT reply actions

One of these days

We won’t even win when Cook pitches, despite a favorable matchup tomorrow. (Lowe: 5.87 ERA at Coors).

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:37 PM MDT up reply actions

Big advantange

Sunday lineup…Ianetta starts

by moomacher on May 3, 2008 9:37 PM MDT up reply actions

DAM, LA owns us so far

Lakers and Dodgers, WE GOT THEM LAST YEAR THOUGH

by RAMJB on May 3, 2008 9:37 PM MDT reply actions

Our football team (Broncos) is better then theirs

unless you count USC

Garrett Atkins for 2nd ! Ian Stewart for 3rd !

by Redhawk on May 3, 2008 9:39 PM MDT up reply actions   1 recs

Things could actually be worse...

except for a brutal error by Ryan Theriot, and a very dubious balk call in San Francisco, we could be looking at a 13-game losing streak.

by alex colfax on May 3, 2008 9:40 PM MDT reply actions

You are what you are

You could say the same about if it weren’t for blown saves from Corpas and Fuentes we’d be 5 to 6 games better than we are now.

by RyanBuff on May 3, 2008 9:43 PM MDT up reply actions

It does mean nothing at all is going right for us

whereas it all was last year. But we suck just as well on our own merits, I know.

We're all going to die!

by Silverblood on May 3, 2008 9:53 PM MDT up reply actions

I saw something on the Rockies' site yesterday that shocked me.

The number of guys on our DL is just staggering, and Tulo wasn’t even on the list yet.

Every day is a Holliday!

by free7694 on May 3, 2008 9:54 PM MDT reply actions
