New game plan:

Instead of all that about RISP, BB, OBP, and various other complicated statistics, I vote we implement an entirely new, revolutionary game plan:

Win.

I don’t know if we need to be talking call-up yet, but I think it’s safe to say that Hynick has started to adjust to Double A, so we can all ease our concerns over him.

but he seems like a more polished pitcher than Ubaldo or Frankie. Not saying he won’t get knocked around occasionally in the bigs, but at least he doesn’t have control problems.

Would be on Rockies’ opposing pitchers getting on base, whether H, BB, or HBP. Seems like the other guys’ pitcher is ALWAYS doing something against ours.

Wow.

Are you kidding me? What are your thoughts on the PSP? Any good? Nearly everyone I know rocks a DS, which I’m partial to myself, so it’d be cool to get the thoughts of someone who plays Golf on the PSP.

by A.J. Haefele on May 6, 2008 8:06 PM MDT up reply actions

Uhm LOVE IT.

I have a DS, had one a long long time, still love that, but the PSP brings different stuff. I never thought I’d ever get a PSP, but I have one and love it. Put TV shows on it to watch on the light rail. But games like God of War and Hot Shots and versions of the GTA’s from PS2 just rock. Hot Shots Golf rules hard too. Got MLB08 The Show on it, and love that too.

Good system, now that good games are out.

throwing games. I know obviously that they aren’t it just shocks me that a team that was so good can be so bad. I knew they were going to struggle some but jeez. Focusing on the positive, 1. Grilli is doing well 2. SF and SD lost 3. we are batting 4. NETTA!!!!!

Please and thank you. Next inning let’s learn this lesson..well Iannetta already knows.

It'll be an easy inning.

And he has to pitch sometime. He’ll get his confidence and his game back, we just have to let him work himself back into it. Not playing him isn’t going to accomplish that.

I was thinking another run this inning too..

with Barmes and Iannetta being the main offense. Holliday has the one infield hit, otherwise the H factor is looking pretty blah.

OK, this is an odd observation/question...

but I have to ask. Why do virtually no MLB players have any hair on their forearms? A friend at work made that observation the other day, and it seems to be true. Do they shave their arms to reduce drag, or what?

Manny has a relatively good inning...

so Hurdle has to throw him out there for another…HurdleLogic strikes again. Any confidence he got from this is gone. We need to turn up the offense and give a crap for a change.

The greatest throw I ever saw...

was in ‘99 when Jose Guillen of the Pirates threw out Neifi Perez at third from deep in the rightfield corner. Was sitting right behind third base and couldn’t believe it.

But Ankiel’s two tonight are right up there; second one was even better than the first.

Well.

I quit watching and watched Dancing with the Stars…but from what I did see, the Rockies gave up after the third inning.

I am about to start beating a dead horse, but where is the leader of the team that can stand up, get the guys back into it, and stop this we suck campaign.

by Squeaky on May 6, 2008 9:12 PM MDT up reply actions

Well...

I think its safe to assume that after tonight, Redman should be going to the bullpen or released at MINIMUM. If he starts again, its a lost cause IMO.

This team, when down early, goes into a shell and just wants to get the game over with.

Rockies need to learn to work the counts, because its ridiculous seeing quick innings because they swing at the first strike they see and pop up or ground out weakly.

And as for a leader, yes, they do. Matty apparentally isn’t him. Helton? Step up please.

I was just

going to rely to my own post about Todd. I find it hard to believe that he has not spoken up. But, his interviews lately have all been quotes that tow the company line. “We just have to get things turned around.” and similar BS. Sad. Very sad.

I dont blame baker..

I felt like Hawpe and Holliday threw in the towel…not just their ending at bats but in general. And if I am wrong and they didn’t..let’s just say that the swinging at first pitches didnt help.Plus the fact that hurdle had to keep manny around for that extra inning/homer. Spilborghs actually gives a crap, let him play right field. Iannetta and Barmes showed their heart tonite. Helton at least got a hit in the last inning. Grilli gave a great performance. And people, don’t run on Ankiel’s arm.
