Nix or Young?
Interesting question:
Who would you call up when Yorvit returns from his 2 game suspension and Bellorin is sent down? Hurdle indicates he wants an infielder and this time he is right.

Jonathan Herrara will not be available, Castro may still be on the DL and Bernier or Perez are not ready.
Nix continues to handle his defensive assignment well and is showing a little pop with his offense.
Young provides speed, speed and more speed, and has also handled his defensive assignments adequately.
I am in favor of giving Nix another shot. He suffered as much from Tulo's poor start as is own growing pains in the majors. Jayson is certainly a good defensive replacement and having cleared waivers once, when he is sent down to clear room for Tulo or Barmes, will probably not draw much interest. (The Rox will also have to clear up the extra outfielder situation by the time Tulo and Barmes are ready to return. I am in favor of moving Taveras while he is hot.)
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff.

Oh?
You weren’t talking about Chris Young?

Both
Barmes and Tulowitzki are penciled in for a return at the end of this week (I’ve seen both Thursday and Friday as days)
So….there’s 2 middle infielders. Not sure the Rockies make a move before then.
My question is who do the Rockies move when Barmy and Tulo get here? I’d assume Bellorian is one….the next one I guess is Q, but Q has played very solid in this stay. So would it be Stewart so he gets steady playing time (which makes TONS of sense)

Probably Stewart...
The team has been impressed with Ian’s performance, but his more permanent call-up happens when we make a trade.

Stewart needs to go back
down and hone up his two strike hitting. Use Triple A to work on shortening up the stroke behind in the count and see if he can’t become a little more contact oriented when he gets down.
The power was a big plus, as it looks middle order big league ready, but the contact ability is not (but it’s still there as well).
For the sake of playing every day and taking the lessons he’s learned and putting them together on the field, a demotion to AAA should do him some good, and it should be the last time he’s there.

He's crowding the plate a little...
And last night McCann was calling for inside pitches, pounding him in. He has such a long swing that he can’t turn on them.
Congratulations to Ken Griffey Jr. on his 600th HR!
