Game #76: Pelfrey vs. Greg Reynolds

New York Mets @ Colorado Rockies

Big Pelf vs. the G-Rey. Big Pelf has one win in his last four starts, and he got that in what was his worst start over that stretch of starts. He allowed six runs in six innings to those Angels from wherever they hail.

The G-Rey also picked up a win in his lasting outing after allowing one run in six innings. He struck out four and walked none.

The G-Rey should be powerful enough to stop Big Pelf today; however, the G-Rey has been known to malfunction from time to time. But, hey, it's not as if Big Pelf always comes up big on the mound.

Go Rockies!

Columbia sent me two huge packets of stuff to read and figure out before the fall…it’s extremely overwhelming.

So in between reading it, I’ve been checking MLB.com constantly to see if the Rockies lineup is up yet. Stupid game needs to start sooner.

Yeah, something like that

Pretty much everything can relate to the Rockies. With some imagination.

I suggest

the best partying dorm. You’re not going to remember things like ‘calculus’ or ‘geography’ when you graduate. But you will remember doing that keg stand with the hot guy (or girl) watching.

Then again, you probably care more about your studies than I did (evidenced by the fact that you’re going to a school that likely doesn’t have to work to keep accreditation).

Okay the game can start now.

Random note: reading Amazin’ Avenue, the Mets SBN blog, and McCovey Chronicles whenever these teams play the Rox really shows how ridiculously little anyone knows about the Rockies and Coors Field.

Of course not

We’re not on the East Coast, in the case of the Mets, so why should they know anything about us? In the Giants’ fans case, they can be excused by ignorance. (Hey, they root for the Gnats).

Examples?

We are all dead.

by Silverblood on Jun 22, 2008 12:54 PM MDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just the whole Coors Field hitting deal

Sure, it is a hitter’s ballpark, but there’s this whole “humidor” thing that everyone either doesn’t know about, doesn’t care, or ignores. And the fact that close games can happen at Coors and people can learn to pitch well there is something that just goes in one ear and out the other.

And in general, the Rockies must suck, so it’s ridiculous whenever they win and/or someone gets a hit and/or our pitcher does well. I guess that’s kind of a true statement, but only we’re allowed to say that, right?

4 pitches, 3 outs for Yorvit today

to squelch a pair of promising rallies.
.....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Iannetta, even though he still K’s too much, at least only gets himself out.

Yorvit's trying to help Chris out

No matter what Chris does, Yorvit can always do worse.

Unfortunately, Hurdle doesn’t get it.

It will count as a quality start, 6 innings 3 runs or less.

Now…..RUNS please.

See Rockies one of the keys to winning baseball games is to have more runs then the other team. to have MORE you have to have SOME

Maybe if we can get Big Pelf to want to announce his presence with authority

he’ll throw the fastball a lot. Also maybe Castro will tip us off that it’s coming, and we can try to win some free steaks/tacos/whatever. Cuz that’s about the only way we’re scoring.
