I just watched the highlight of the Hawpe homer on Gameday, and the Mets tv network showed a closeup of the scoreboard with the zeros right before the pitch that Brad hit out to break up the no hitter. Ha!

They keep walking our best hitters, and then the next guy gets out anyway. I’d would rather Hawpe have tried to get a hit it there, even if it ends up being an out, rather than take a walk and leave it to Nix.

So, the
last two games Aaron Cook pitched at Shea ended up 2-1 victories for the Mets. And Damion Easley had a homer in each one.

who just completed a complete game shutout in 106 pitches, striking out seven, walking one.
Roe has been pretty good in AA. He’s only had one bad outing, one below average one, several good, and now one outstanding one. I’d like to see more K’s, but he’s orking deep into games with pitch efficiency, so i can’t complain too much.
