Chacin and Roe
Just would like some people's thoughts on the possibility of either Chacin or Chaz Roe getting one late season start at the end of the year like the rockies did with Juan Marillo a couple years ago. I know Chacin is only at High A, but why not throw him one start. As for Roe he started the year a little late due to injury but since moving to Tulsa he has pitched fairly well. I would just like to see one start apiece for both of them. See what they got.

I'd have no problem with it
Mentioned it as well in a Fanpost on Chacin a couple of weeks ago. Ubaldo Jimenez got a start at Chicago Cubs in the last game of the 2006 season--I don’t recall if he was brought up from AA or AAA at the time. BTW, Chicago won that game but finished 66-96 in 2006—look where they are now. The Rockies can recover from this season. Back to late season starts by first-time call-ups, it can also depend on circumstances and standings at the time of both teams playing.
Arbitration?
I don’t know MLB’s rules, but would that start the clock running toward their MLB service time? I’d really like to see what they can do, too, but not if it means losing them a year earlier…
Service time
Service time is based on days on the roster. If you spent half a season on the roster one year and half a season the next, that counts as 1 year, not 2.
In theory, it could make a one year difference if those extra days push a guy from X.9 years to Y.1 years.
