Hirsh?

OK, with Redman DFA'd and  Wells having embarassed himself and the organization, and De La Rosa still in the rotation, why isn't Jason Hirsh being brought back to the Major Leagues?

His record at Colo. Springs is inconsistent -- 3 good starts, 4 not good starts, too many walks.  But even if he's only decent half the time (and he should improve as he pitches his way back into shape), isn't he better than Redman or Wells?

Perhaps I missed something.  Why is Hirsh not being given a chance to go through the revolving door that controls the Rockies No. 4 & 5 starters?

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Too many walks.

That’s the key. If Hirsh is thrown back into the MLB rotation with his command problems, he will be just as ineffective as all the other scrubs we have. Just like with Frankie Morales, the coaching staff won’t promote Hirsh untill his command improves.

Wait, I'm a bit confused

Weren’t Morales and Hirsh good before our pitching staff got ahold of them? I don’t recall Hirsh having such command issues when he was the Texas league pitcher of the year and then the PCL pitcher of the year…

And what about Morales?

He was a lefty power thrower, with a 97 mph fastball, but with little control. Our coaching staff gets a hold of him, and now he still has no control, and can’t throw it over 92 now. He goes from being one of the premiere pitching prospects in all of baseball, to looking like he’s going to be “never-was” wash out.

Hirsh and Morales and Francis all regressing beyond anything I’ve ever seen in baseball, all in one year, is really alarming. Some one should be fired for wasting this kind of talent. Starting pitchers are a rare item, and to just use them up…...bad bongos

Thought Clint Hurdle should be fired before it was cool.

Young

If Hirsh was an old washed up pitcher they might well throw him to the wolves like they have the other guys.

With a guy who they still have hopes for in the future they are probably more focused upon seeing him improve than they are in seeing if he can eat up some innings in the big leagues.

From the Wednesday Rockpile

This was posted by “Since 1993” from the Rockies web page in the Wednesday Rockpile. It’s a great article on Morales and Hirsch status.
