Overall, Friedrich has to shore up a couple things, but a college lefty with pretty good stuff and four pitches aren’t that common, and getting the kind of value that Friedrich could provide late in the first round makes this a solid pick for the Rockies.

Whippy overhand, gets rid of the ball fast, doesn’t seem to have too many frills in his delivery, and (from what I can tell, which is limited) doesn’t appear to have some glaring mechanical issue. Of course, it would help if I could see the result of the pitches (i.e, was it a swinging strike, a ball, hit into play, etc) and how he finishes, rather than 43 seconds of rather jumpy footage, but he does seem to be settling down better after his rough first start.
