Another L to pin on brothers Monfort and O'Dowd....
The fact that this brass keeps asking these young players to go out and play behind this absolute joke of a starting rotation is very disturbing to say the least. Let's see.....We're trotting out De La Rosa, De Los Santos, and Glendon freaking Rusch this weekend in a crucial series, and have been doing this for the last month? O'Dowd should have cut a deal two months ago for a starting pitcher when it was evident that Morales was not in the realm of ready and Hirsh was hurt. He bemoans that teams wanted prospects, but guess what Dan, the price goes up when the stakes are highest. Had you and the rest of the front office been forward thinking, you could have had Josh Fogg, Ian Snell, and Tim Redding for much less than what was being demanded this past week. Rant, rant, rant. Very frustrating, and if I am Matt Holliday or Garret Atkins, I want nothing to do with this farm team down the road unless I see a real commitment to winning from the top of the organization.

I do not agree
I do not hold good views of the Monforts and DOD, but I have to say they are not the ones playing on the field.
Ownership and GMs put the players on the field, but they cannot dictate what the players do once on the field. The players have to own up to the mistakes, not ownership. If a player is not worth keeping around, then yes, that is the ownerships problem. It is not the Monfort brothers who were keeping the Rockies from scoring any runs during April and May, nor was it DOD who required U-Ball, and Francis to get roughed up in the first couple innings of almost every start.
I see what you are saying about bringing in talent, whether that be from a trade/waiver/call-up. You also have to remember that not every prospect we have is going to be Francis, Cookie, Holliday, or Tulo. The owners and GM may not be doing things the way you would like to see them done, but that does not make them wrong or you wrong. They are doing things the way that they see fit, and I agree with them not doing much during trading season. Team chemistry is an important factor that gets lost in the pursuit of money/fame, some players mesh really well with each other while others do not. If the whole team did not want to see Fuentes gone, then I would listen to them because they are my employees.

They put the players on the field....
It is not the effort of the three above mentioned starting pitchers. It is that these guys are not good enough to merit being starting pitchers in MLB this season, yet here they are with the reigning National League Champions. While, I respect your opinion, this is horrible, and Rockies fans need to ready themselves for the departure of their most beloved players and due to the timing, we’ll get very little in return.

I know I'm a Broken Record
But “you are what your record says you are.” And the Rockies record says:
1. Ownership/GM has not done a good job of putting talent on the field
2. The manager has not done a good job of maximizint the talent he has
3. The players have for the most part underperformed
This is a bad team, and all share the blame. And ownership/GM sitting on their hands rubs many of us the wrong way.

IMO
they dropped the ball early in the season by not going after pitching. But they have a history of dumpster diving and trying to luck out in the most important facet of the game (pitching) where of course we are behind every other team in the division.
