This is a nifty matchup of two guys their respective teams hope wll be dominating National League hitters in a couple of years. It's been a long afternoon for me, I'm hungry and tired and I still have a Pebble report to get to, but a Rockies win would sure put something nice into the evening.

that the guy isn’t all that popular with some folks in these parts, but personally, I don’t understand why Pods doesn’t play more than he does. The guy seems to at least get his butt on base more than Willy.

I was at a Rockies Marlin game
2 years ago in Miami on a Friday night….you could have counted the fans.
And I went another game that had Oswalt and the Astros vs. D Willis. Little better crowd…..but that’s a football stadium, and feels like it.

Frustrated hitters
The Marlin’s hitters look a bit like the Dodger’s hitters did last week – frustrated and overwhelmed.
Yes...
For most of the season, Cook has been my favorite starter to watch, but Ubaldo is challenging him. I’m just happy than 40% of our games are now worthy of being excited about, rather than the 20% that we’ve had most of the season. .
Ubaldo's schedule
Can someone tell me if I’m doing this right? Ubaldo will pitch every 5th day, right? So if I’m looking at the schedule right, I think Ubaldo will be pitching against the Giants on the 25th, and I’m going to that game with my mom. Yay! The last time the Giants were here I saw a Francis start (a loss) and a Cook start (win—the Tulo injury game). Now Ubaldo. Quite well-rounded. Now I just have to cross my fingers that Ubaldo keeps this up (and stays healthy).

Don’t get me wrong, winning is better than losing and Uball deserves a W for the effort he gave.
There just isn’t any reason that we particularly need to win this or any other game this year.
