Colorado Rockies @ Florida Marlins
Nolasco seems to me to be somewhat of a home field/team creation this year, a pitcher that might not be as good as he looks if he played in one of the NL's less flyball pitcher friendly stadiums. Not that it matters, we're playing this game at Dolphin Stadium, and Valerio De Los Santos is our starter, so it's not like we're going to be able to find any advantage in that.

Hard to give a guy just one start to prove himself.
Changing schedules, changing leagues, jet lag, nerves, etc. can all be a factor in that first start. If they were going to give him a shot then giving him this second start makes sense.
I would be more than a bit shocked if he finally figured out how to command his pitches at age 35 but apparently the Rockies think otherwise so they might as well give him a second start.

Think of him as
the 2008 version of Tim Harikkala, except we’re going to start him twice instead of just once. Here’s hoping we can get a result tonight like we did in Harikkala’s lone start last year.

Exactly my thought.
Love the guy. Pretty much Mr. Rocky, and will be long after he does retire. But we have so many issues that revolve around him and his big contract.

Hurdle has decided that any pitcher whose name starts with De La/ De Los can be helped by adding a large dosage of fail, in the personage of Yorvit, to the lineup. That didn’t work last time, I take substantial leave to doubt that it will this time.
