Monday Rockpile: Labor Day Edition

September: The last month of the baseball season for the majority of major league teams. It's always a little sad when you figure you're team won't make the playoffs--until they go on some magical run at the end of the season. But how often does that happen?

Who wants to labor today on Labor Day? Here's today's links:

Tracy Ringolsby's game recap looks at the Rockies's awful record in day games. The Rockies play another afternoon game today.

The RMN and the Denver Post both report on Yorvit Torrealba's plans concerning surgery, the latter reporting the surgery may happen within the next two days.

We're not out of it

I mean, we should be only 4 back after this past weekend, but we still can get up front. Do we end up there? Very unlikely, but not impossible. We won’t be having this conversation this time next week, though, if we don’t pick up serious ground this week.
