Game #147: Jimenez vs Jurrjens
Colorado Rockies at Atlanta Braves, Sep 11, 2008 5:10 PM MDT
I look forward to Ubaldo Jimenez starts. Especially against a lineup that features a Josh Anderson, Jeff Francoeur and Gregor Blanco outfield. I look forward to the third through eighth slots in the Rockies lineup. I think we might actually have a decent shot of avoiding the sweep tonight, even against Jurrjens, who I'd been keen on as a prospect for some time before he justified that this year.
Go Rockies!

Matt & stealing
There’s an article in the most recent SI about base stealing, and there’s a section on Holliday. Apparently he’s the most efficient in the league this year (now 26 for 27 with the one in the 1st). They asked some other player (one of the Giants, can’t remember who) who he thought the most efficient was, and he was surprised it was Matt.

Ubaldo
I am not sure how his fastball command is since he didn’t really need to throw fastballs in that inning but his curve and his change-up are nasty.

Baker and Taveras got it done there...
The results of that third inning would be nice to see more often from our leadoff hitters.

Argh
This bullpen situation has been brutal the last few games.

Giants
should pass them in the standings pretty soon.

I am getting....
so that I want the entire bullpen outside of Corpas and Fuentes replaced. Bucky too, but he needs some support to get back on the right track, Yes even the current pitcher against us (a familiar face) seems like a better option.

That post sounds weird,
I meant keep Bucky as well.

Heh
Good thing you clarified, because I did indeed read it the other way.
And I’m right there with you, though I don’t really see Fuentes as an option, given the kind of money he will likely get.

I just think this bullpen situation has gotten rather sad....
I really wish we could have held onto LaTroy Hawkins who I believe would have been a big improvement over others. I don’t say that just because he is in a great stretch now, I just thought he did an amazing job for us last year when he came back from being hurt. OMG in the bullpen post I forgot Jason Grilli….A big I AM SORRY to the gas can, I do want him around if possible.

I still love Iannetta...
that CDI….who has had to catch all these bullpen games of fail…I am surprised he is still upright.

I keep thinking Rockies wise it can't...
but then every night it gets worse. Somehow I really thought we had a chance in this one.

Rockies lose again...
thank you hurdle for putting in the good relievers after atlanta took a 4 run lead. I know he has thrown in the towel on the season, but no reason to punish ubaldo and ruin his chance at a win.

The problem is
we only have, like, 2 relievers pitching well (I’m not counting Fuentes, because he’s never going to get into a game before the 9th), and Ubaldo only went 5. I guess he could have put Grilli in earlier, but we can’t rely on just 1 middle reliever.

This is true...
but at this rate I am about ready to start asking if we can bring omar quintanilla in to pitch an inning.
