Thanks for five good innings, Livan

Now get him out of there before he blows up in the 6th, as per every other game…

Plz to be pitching Rusch?

Really?

You’d pull him now on 75 pitches without even throwing a pitch in the 6th? Just because he’s had issues in the 6th in the past doesn’t mean he will this time. And although I’d have to go back and look, I’d wager that he’s pitched better today than he did before the 6th in those other games. He’s given up 3 hits, all singles. No way would I pull him.

And, huh.

They did. One time that I think Hurdle pulled a guy too early. It wasn’t like they had to pinch hit for him, either.

I used to think just as you....

Remember that time Livan went six scoreless, and blew up in the 7th? (one inning more, but essentially same # of pitches and same number of #s’ through the batting order). In a close game, he gave up back to back solo shots before Hurdle pulled him, and we lost the game? – I defended leaving him out there pretty vociferously at the time. In fact, prior to the 7th, he was on a 1-hitter, if memory serves, and had pitched better than today.

And then something very similar happened the next time he pitched?

He’s had issues at this point in the game (in terms of # of picthes) just about every time out.

He’s been able to make it through the order roughly twice without getting knocked around too bad. But it’s clear he’s no longer effective after 60-65 pitches, and definitely not effective the 3rd time through the order. I’ve come around to others’ thinking — get him out absolutely no later than 18 batters in, and possibly a bit earlier if it’s at the end of an inning.

I think I was just feeling

burnt out on this bullpen. Looks like I needn’t have worried (today, at least).

Huh

Rockies win 1-0 on a Koshansky solo homer. Never would have predicted that.

Who'da thunk it?

1-0 getting to be a common score around these parts.

Wow,

I didn’t expect this to be the final score.
