I do believe that
taking the long process with Dex to get him acclimated with the bigs is the right idea, and that he shouldn’t be thrust into the starting role…
…however, I laughed when I read that his playing time is inversely related to the team’s play.
So long as we are in contention, Hurdle feels Fowler should sit while guys hitting .260/.312/.308, .265/.329.351, and .245/.290/.362 bat regularly to semi-regularly at the top of the order…
Just call it for what it is, Fowler needs to get acclimated to the league, but lets not pretend we are using better alternatives.

They are a major asset in the outfield
and in running the bases.
As for stealing, his stance and footwork around first could use some adjustment. I noticed in the panned back view and at the Olympics that he gotten into a better crouch, as he used to stand straight up, which caused him to waste time and motion getting into a better position to accelate out of his stance.
I said in my last breakdown of him that I don’t believe he’ll be a huge basestealer, as he doesn’t have true burst, at least yet. ESPN gave him 70 speed at the Futures Game, and that’s a good rating for him, as his speed is evident in every other facet of his game. Yet, even if you look at his AA numbers, he just cracked 20. 30 steals will be a good year for Fowler, but he has a good chance to be one of those 15-20 triples guys.
HOWEVER, I don’t believe this was the reason for what happened last inning. It was a botched hit and run, one way or the other.
Especially maddening
because AZ looks like they are going to lose tonight.
