Your Purple Row 2008 MLB Postseason Bracket Challenge

Make your predictions for the 2008 postseason here. No prizes awarded at the end.

I'll take the Brewers over the Phillies, the Cubs over the Dodgers, the Angels over the Red Sox, and the Rays over the winner of the AL Central. The Brewers then defeat the Cubs and the Rays beat the Angels. The Rays win the World Series. A pipe dream? Maybe, but that's how I see it.

I predict...

Phils over the Brew Crew, Cubs over the Dodgers, Red Sox over the Angels, Rays over the White Sox/Twins.

Cubs over the Phils, Red Sox over the Rays.

Cubs over the Red Sox in the World Series.

And finally, I predict that on October 31, 2008, the entire universe will collapse.

Personal preference, not based on realistic analysis:

The Brewers being my back-up team, and the Rays being a fun team to watch, I like Russ’s scenario, though I also wouldn’t mind seeing the Twins go far. Let’s just get the Phillies, Dodgers, and Red Sox out of it ASAP. I’d like to see the Brewers win it all, but again I’ll take Russ’s scenario just because it would be kind of beautiful in a screw-the-Yankees-and-Red-Sox sort of way. I think most of the (non-media) world can get behind that.

If we're going on personal preference

I’m going with the Brewers as well, their AAA team being here in Nashville.

Oh, yeah.

Obviously this assumes that the Twins make it rather than the ChiSox.

Entirely non-scientific

NLDS:
Phillies over Brewers (boo, I’d rather have Brewers win, but Sabathia can’t start 4 games)
Cubs over Dodgers

NLCS:
Cubs over Phillies

ALDS:
Boston over LA Angels

Twins over Rays or Rays over White Sox
Boston over either (ugh, but trying to be objective)

Cubs over Boston, and aliens land in the La Brea tarpits the next day
