MLB Network
Hey folks, I just tuned into the new MLB Network last night and saw such great potential...
I was just wondering what everyone thought about it, what was great, not so great...
I was enjoying the Prime Nine segment, such amazing old footage there, and when they would get to the actual highlight, after building it up...so far, so good...and then the footage began and they would cut away after a couple seconds, and get a giant headshot on Bob Costas and commenting things like "And then Reggie said..." and flash back to the footage to complete it...AARGGHHH!!!
They possess such jewels, why not play them out with the original audio and complete video, and THEN comment again afterwards?
So, just wondering what Purple Row thinks about then new network...and if we agree about stuff, we can lobby mlb!!! And get them not to pander to mtv junkies.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

I think they need more trashy reality shows...
Like “Baseball Wives” or “Lookin’ for Love with Alyssa Milano”. Also, I think with their historical footage, they need to focus on stuff from, let’s say 1993 on (it’s just a number I pulled out of a hat). Plus they need to have lots more of Ryan Spilborghs and Taylor Buchholz. Also Chris Iannetta…
That train has left the station
on the Milano deal
Gosh, don’t you read SBNation’s home for all things Milano?
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

MLB Network
As long as they manage to avoid becoming all Yanks/Mets/Cubs/RedSox all the time (cough, cough, ESucksPN), they’ll be great. It’s a bit hard to really judge just yet, since their live programming is pretty much limited to Hot Stove (pretty darn good). And I’m tired of them replaying all the 2008 LCS and WS games.
They should be playing instant classics, such as a game that took place in October 2007 between the Rockies and some scrubs from just north of Tijuana.
I think we’ll get a much better idea how this network’s gonna run once pitchers and catchers report. But I’ve got high high hopes.

If they need to fill up air time
they should play the 22 inning game w/ San Diego last year, in it’s entirety!

I do like this one, though
Particularly Eric Byrnes flopping into an “I’m not worthy” pose for the last out, with Helton standing over him.
