Anyway, Chacon “earned” $2 million in 2008 (and $14 million over his entire MLB career, per B-R) so they probably assumed he was good for it. You or I would probably get laughed at if we tried to write $150k worth of checks.

Interesting that he did this in March.
Chacon didn’t pitch his first game of the season until June, while with the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affilate of the Oakland A’s. Boy, if he had racked up these debts while with the River Cats when they visited Las Vegas in late June, you would have figured he would have been in more trouble than he’s already in.
