My John Kruk Story
but the john kruk stuff is so far down the page in the rockpile, i figured this would be the only way anyone sees it.
1993, phils are just battering the rox in mile hi (they had some serious hitters!!).
I'm sitting right behind the third base dugout...
Fat boy on 1st, two outs, 3-2 count..
Darren Daulton Batting, if I remember correctly...
you've got it - long foul ball down the line....
Kruk takes off - chugs nearly to third before he realizes it's foul..
Waddles across the diamond back to first...
Next pitch - another long foul ball...
Kruk chugs around second again....
Next pitch - I KID YOU NOT..
another long foul ball - kruk isn't exactly chugging now, but this one is close to fair, so he has to go all the way to third....
FOUL BALL!!!
Kruk stops, bends over, hands on his knees...
third base coach comes over, talks to him..
third base coach calls time out...
The entire section behind third erupts, Kruk is taking a load of crap....
Finally, he goes back to first, and Daulton makes an out.
One more time might have finished him, or maybe, even better, they'd have pinch run for him!!!
Hmmm, maybe this is why he dislikes us???
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

It's just because he played for the Phillies
That’s why he dislikes us. He thinks that baseball is only played east of the Mississippi River.
No, that’s not really fair. He actually thinks that baseball is only played in Philadelphia, New York, and Atlanta. May as well give him all of the credit he deserves, as long as I’m giving credit.

It is 1879, right?
Because then Kruk would be totally justified in his observations. Except maybe for Atlanta, but I’m sure there’s an amateur club there that he can root for.
At this point in the season, all the Rockies' numbers are magic.
The Braves were playing in Boston then.
The Southern League wasn’t formed until 1885

Ignorance of the American League is a sign of good moral character.
Look out Dodgers...Purple objects in mirror are closer than they appear.
I'll be the guy in a orange shirt EVERY Monday...Broncos are my team win or lose.
He was an all-star.....
at eating hotdogs, that is.
