Running a MLB Team by Voting (kinda of like Michael Bloomberg)
This is perhaps the most pointless post I have ever written. I think almost everybody here, outside of new followers to this blog have a great idea of the Rockies demand and supply. So I felt the apparent need to test a working hypothesis, and that is by letting attentive fans dictate the Rockies Club moves. In summary I would like to see a series of poll questions that us( the fans) would vote on and compare the results where we have a super majority i.e. (66% voted in favor) to see if the Rockies follow it in the off season.
Here are some of those questions followed by a real one....
1.Starting outfield...
a) Hawpe, Spilly, Cargo
b) Cargo, Smith, Fowler
c) Hawpe, Cargo, Smith
2. 5th starting pitcher...
a) sign Marquis
b) let our farm system handle the problem
c) sign a minor league FA
P.S.
I hope this data wouldn't prevent a person from making a decision.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Nice idea!
To the Atkins question, I’d let him walk. Sure, the Rockies should explore trading him for just about anything at this point, but no one is going to trade for someone if they know he’ll be non-tendered during the offseason (not to mention the $7 million price tag!). It’s time to see what Stewart can do as the full time starter at 3B.
Is Atkins as bad as he showed this year? No. But will he ever get back to that 30 HR, 100 RBI form we saw a few years ago? I seriously doubt it. I wish him all the best wherever he lands, and hope he can be productive for that team, but the Rockies can’t afford to tie up $7 million in a player like him.

I'd be interested in finding a replacement corner IF type
like a new Giambi, assuming he doesn’t stay with us. Like a Tony Clark or Nomar or Chris Shelton or someone of that ilk.

Nomar wouldn't be a terrible idea
I have rarely heard bad clubhouse reports about him and while his production has dropped quite a bit he can still play 1st, 3rd and SS (if necessary).

I don't think he has anything left
Offensivly or defensivly
I'm still hoping to wake up from that nightmare I had about the 9th inning of Game 4.

There's no way Atkins makes much next year
He’s an interesting buy low candidate if we don’t tender him a contract and we find a way to pay him like a real corner sub. He should probably get an incentive-laden contract to make him work past his unhealthy habits, which is what’s hurting his bat speed, from what I heard.
If we could find a way to get his BB/K rate from last year to most players on the team, we’d be a 100 win team easily; all Atkins needs to do is learn how to hit line drives again and get unlazy.
Impossible not to have positive thoughts.
I want Sam Deduno to pitch already.

To answer these questions:
1) B. But none of these options are particularily terrible, and assuming Hawpe isn’t traded, we’ll see all of them happen at one point or another next year, based on the situation.
2) None of the above. Francis or Morales, with Chacin or Rogers held in AAA for backup.
The Atkins Poll: Let ‘em go, unless you’re able to get the most amazing bargain ever. And even then, I don’t think he’s ever going to get it together here. Let another team take a flier.

Trade Rumor
I just saw Dan O’Dowd and Noah Lowry having a meeting in College Station, TX. Don’t hold your breath but I think Lowry is coming to Coors!

Isn't our Triple A rotation already filled?

sure, we have lots of AAA guys who have no business pitching in the majors
I feel awful for Lowry, he was really promising, but injuries have simply wrecked his career.
