Jhoulys Chacin has produced mixed results in a couple of starts in the Venezuelan League.

Tracy Ringolsby posted a link to this site in InsidetheRockies.com, and I figured I'd do the same here. Chino Carvajal, who runs the site, posts daily updates for the VZL games. According to Chino, Franklin Morales, Jhoulys Chacin, Edgmer Escalona, Carlos Gonzalez, Daniel Mayora, and Kenny Perez are all representing the Rockies' organization there.

Chacin pitched yesterday and struggled through four innings, getting just 34 of 59 pitches over the plate and allowing two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out two. In the same update, Carvajal also mentions that Morales almost surely will be used as a starting pitcher.

In Buster Olney's mind, the biggest name that will be part of the expected abundance of non-tendered players is our own Garrett Atkins. There's no way in hell the Rockies would offer Atkins $8-10MM in arbitration, and I'm not so sure they'll find a match for him in a trade, either. Plenty other teams will make similar decisions to contribute to the overpopulation of the free-agent market, according to an unnamed veteran executive.
